Dr. Glenn Alex is an Athens dentist who takes courses that allow him to advance his skills and expand his knowledge of dental health care. He has completed some of the best post-graduate dental curriculums in the world including: The Dawson Academy, L.D. Pankey Institute and LSU Cosmetic Curriculum. In addition to his own learning, Dr. Alex has been an instructor at Georgia Regents Dental School and mentors pre-dental students in his office.
Originally from Marietta, Dr. Alex has lived in Athens since 1988. He is married to Arlene and is the proud father of three grown children: Ashley Ann, Harrison, and Grace. Dr. Alex and Arlene volunteer monthly at Mercy Health Center providing dental care. He is a member of Athens Church and serves on Athens Technical College Board of Directors.
Arlene graduated from Macon College in 1993 and began her career as a dental assistant before completing hygiene school in 1997. That same year she joined this practice and continues to work happily alongside her husband, Dr. Alex.
Arlene enjoys spending time with family and friends, working outside, travel and running. Arlene continues to work with our patients in several capacities and has a passion for dentistry and people and is committed to helping our patients achieve their best smiles. She and Dr. Alex have three awesome children, Ashley Ann, Harrison, and Grace.
With her expert knowledge of periodontal health, Misty is understanding and compassionate about your dental concerns. She believes your mouth is an extension of your overall health and she enjoys using her knowledge to help guide and educate her patients towards optimal dental health.
Samantha attended Athens Technical College where she graduated as a CDA/EFDA in 2020 and joined Dr. Alexs team at the start of 2021. Samantha couldnt ask to work with a better team than that of Dr. Alexs. Her focus is on providing each patient with an optimal dental experience by ensuring the patient is comfortable and that their dental health goals are met.
TJ has been in the dental field since 2014. She obtained her Dental Hygiene license in 2017 from Athens Technical College and joined Dr. Alexs office in February of 2021. Her favorite part of her job is developing relationships with her patients while getting them to their dream smile and seeing the confidence it brings. She strives to provide the best quality service to her patients while educating them on the importance of oral health and how it affects the body as a whole.
TJ is a Georgia native, born in LaGrange, and moved to Athens for college. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends at Georgia Football games, concerts, and out on the Lake. She and her husband Tayler, have a daughter Lila Grace and a son, Turner, on the way.

The absolute best dentist office in Athens! Every single staff member is so personable and welcoming from start to end. I've been so lucky to have them while being here in college! Could not recommend more.

Would give the office -5 if I could. Have called their office three days in a row (discomfort, pain, infection of molar) They never called me back I know I'm not a regular patient, but Dentists are expensive!!! Glenn Alex has been my dentist over the years. Extremely unprofessional to not return a phone call And when a person is in pain, show them some consideration

UPDATE - Dr. Alex and his staff are still amazing!! I've continued to use them for all of my dental care, and I cannot recommend them enough. My experience from start to finish (veneers) has been positive. Dr. Alex pays VERY close attention to detail, and it shows in his work. The entire process was explained closely, and I never felt rushed. Everyone in the office is friendly, I was always greeted warmly, and I never had to wait more than five minutes after my appointment time(s). Dr. Alex has a great personality and is always professional and respectful of my time, which I truly appreciate. Having had more than one horrible dental experience, I can say without reservation that my comfort was always their priority. His assistant, Melissa, was amazing and made sure to communicate with me about what was happening. Arlene was wonderful to work with, and my phone calls were always returned promptly. She worked hard to make sure the billing process was seamless. I'm continually impressed with their level of commitment to the satisfaction of their patients. My results are beautiful. This is the place to go for the best

It had been a few (too many) years since my last dentist visit. I was nervous about even calling to schedule an appointment, but Arlene was very welcoming! Dr. Alex worked with me on a plan to not only fix some cavities and discoloration, but also repair some older fillings that were leaking, all while breaking this huge op into smaller appointments that fit my budget. Arlene did a great job on whitening my teeth as well! From the first consultation until the most recent visit where, after a year of tackling piece by piece, I finally have a healthy smile that I can be proud of! 10/10 would recommend!

Just recently had fillings replaced (should of had done long ago) and was pleasantly surprised by how little side effects I experienced from both the meds and procedure. No surprise by the professionalism of both the technique and office staff. Dr. Alex's office has been our first and only choice for many years!

Wow, best dentist EVER! This was my first time as a patient at Dr. Glenn Alex's office, and I will certainly be back (in 6 months of course). Let's start with the office. I was greeted by the nicest woman with great glasses who gave me a toothbrush and floss upon arrival. What I really appreciated was that this dentist office actually plays good music, stuff people actually want to hear. None of the typical elevator music. They kept the hits coming! My hygienist Julie was the best I've ever had. She was kind, funny, listened to me talk way too much (sorry Julie I don't get out much), and provided great patient education. Dr. Alex was the nicest dentist ever! He took the time to ask about my teeth issues and provided great education and solutions. I normally don't love going to the dentist but I highly recommend the team at Dr. Alex's office. Thank you for making me feel welcome in Athens :)

The entire team there is so thoughtful and genuine. They take time with you to assess your needs and without any pressure or judgement. Dr. Glenn does amazing work, especially on cosmetic needs. They are truly the best dental team I have been to.

This is the best dental office experience I have ever had. Arlene is always so welcoming and knows exactly who I am when I call or walk in, and I've only been there 3 times. Dr Alex's technique is extremely pain-free even for a filling, and he explains what he's doing the entire time. I have had several horrible dental experiences but I will continue to come to this office even after moving/working farther from Athens!

Dr. Alex was totally wonderful. HOWEVER, his front desk receptionist, Arline, was incredibly rude and unhelpful to my step-father and me. This part of the experience was unnerving enough, but she was oddly antagonistic - nasty, even - towards my mother. Keep in mind, all three of these were on separate appointments that we all went to alone...and several times on the phone when my mother asked for her teeth impressions (that were "lost" and then magically "recovered"). My step-father (who is very non-confrontational) cancelled his appointment to avoid the awkwardness. Super strange experience. I would leave 5 stars for Dr. Alex, but 0 for front office.

Dr. Alex and his staff made my dreams come true by giving me the smile of my dreams! I can now smile without having the fear and embarrassment of my smile, after my third time of getting braces due to seeing the wrong dentist for a long time.
