On behalf of our team, we wish you a warm welcome to our website. Dr. George A. Gutierrez, has one of the leading pediatric dental practices in San Antonio, Texas. Whether you have come to this website by a recommendation of a family member, friend, another dentist or your pediatrician, we want you to be confident that you are in the best place for your child's dental health care.

From your first visit, you will notice the family atmosphere. Dr. Gutierrez and his team bring their compassion and talents to the office and have dedicated themselves to the dental care of children. We see ourselves as teachers and friends to children first, and dental technicians second.

We also think of our patients as family. Many of Dr. Gutierrez's patients have been with him from the toddler stage to high school. We understand the tough and crazy times that families go through. We are willing to work with you on dental treatment plans and be there for you in case of emergencies.

Our staff is trained and skilled, and we strive to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient. Each member of our team has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. We strive to stay abreast of the very latest in technology and advances by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars.

We work hard to make dental care affordable.. The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient's problem. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We have payment plans to suit different budgets. We also accept assignment from most insurance plans, and file the necessary papers to the insurance company. If you have insurance, we will help you determine the coverage you have available. Our office is happy to cooperate with patients who have insurance; however, we do ask the following:

The Financial Coordinator will only file the patients primary insurance. If a patient has secondary insurance, the responsible party will need to submit the claim to the secondary insurance. Our Financial Coordinator will assist if you have any questions.

The first visit to a new office can be exciting and scary, especially if you are a child. We believe that your childs first visit to our dental office should be fun and educational for you both, so please do not hesitate to ask any questions.

During your first visit, you will be introduced to our Pediatric Dental Team, given an office tour and and given an opportunity to discuss your child's unique smile and ways to keep it beautiful for years to come.

Depending on the age of your child, he or she will either be given a knee-to-knee examination (where your babys head will rest on our doctors knee while their body is on your lap) or a regular exam in the doctors chair.

Oral hygiene instructions will also be given with suggestions to help your child care for their own teeth. In most cases, we will also clean their teeth on this visit, and provide an evaluation that will outline any existing dental problems and proposed treatment.

Pediatric Dentists focus on the treatment and prevention of dental disease, as well as the overall oral health of children. Through extra years of schooling, training, experience, and certification, a pediatric dentist, like Dr. Gutierrez, is uniquely qualified to treat the dental needs of infants, children, teens and those with special needs.

A pediatric patient not only has a different dentition than adults but he/she may have specific dental and behavioral needs that are unique to a child. These needs may include orthodontics, dental sealants, fluoride applications or home treatments, or just simply education in oral hygiene. In addition to treating existing dental problems, our office focuses on prevention through patient and parent education.

We like to feel that you and your child do not come to our office to have their cavities fixed but rather to prevent them. Our mission is to provide all of the educational tools necessary for our patients to enjoy a cavity-free future.
