Orthodontics is not just my profession; it is a huge part of my life. The ability to help so many wonderful people achieve their goal of attaining a healthy and beautiful smile is an incredible source of energy and inspiration. Artist by nature and scientist by education, I chose to become an orthodontist because of my passion for helping people change and improve their lives. I strongly believe that a beautiful smile plays a part in ones success. Every smile that I treat is an opportunity to make a positive impact on someones life. As I help my patients, they help me as well. I meet many fantastic people every day who help me grow and enrich my life.
Education and Continuing Education I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Case Western Reserve University, as well as my Doctorate of Dental Surgery. I attended the State University of New York at Buffalo where I earned my Master of Science degree and Certificate of Proficiency in Orthodontics. I was awarded the Pierre Fouchard Award, the Teledyne Waterpik Award in Prosthodontics, the American Academy of Dental Practice Administration Award, and the Academy of General Dentistry Award. I am actively involved in a number of local dental and orthodontic study groups and attend numerous continued education courses to stay abreast of current techniques and developments.
As Marketing Coordinator, Cheryl promotes Dr. Gens office to the community, schools, and businesses in the local area. Although Cheryl does not work with patients directly, she loves to watch their transformation as they progress through treatment! She loves working with Dr. Gen because of the way he handles each patients case with professionalism, respect, and sensitivity. Cheryl has been happily married to her husband, Bob, for over 20 years, and they have three very active boys together! She is an avid runner and biker, and she loves to do anything physical. Cheryl also enjoys travelling and shopping, and spending time with her family!
Cristen works as a Clinical Assistant. She graduated from dental assisting school and has always had a particular interest in orthodontics. Cristen really enjoys working with the team at Dr. Gen Orthodontics, and especially with Dr. Gen! When Cristen is away from work, she enjoys spending time with her family, making handmade soaps with her mom, and selling them at local craft shows.

The overall orthodontic care was fine, although impersonal. The flexibility in booking appointments was difficult, to say the least. A couple of the office staff made the experience pretty negative. Happy to be moving on to phase two somewhere different.

I had a wonderful experience. I moved into Ohio from another state and Dr. Gen was able to take me as a transfer patient. As a college student he was able to offer me the best possible prices to get started. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and both of his offices are beautiful and clean. I finally got done with my treatment and I couldn't be happier, my teeth look perfect. The whole office was celebrating for everyone getting their braces off they truly make it feel like a celebration. Thanks Dr. Gen and his team for my beautiful smile

Professionalism and expertise beyond measure... from the reception area to the treatment bay. Who knew Twinsburg had a world class orthodontist right in our backyard. If you are a "mature" adult sitting on the fence about receiving treatment I strongly suggest you schedule a consultation with Dr. Gen!

Dr. Gen and the entire staff at the Mayfield office is amazing. All professionals ( doctors in other disciplines, or matter of fact, any business) should use Dr. Gen as a case study and understand how to run his/her business. I went in to discuss my options and he was very considerate and worked within my constraints. The staff ( specially Kaitlin) communicates well, follows-up promptly, and the whole business operates like a well-oiled machine. Keeping doing a great job and we are all very lucky to have such a wonderful team in Cleveland
