Born in California and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Rostami graduated from Virginia Commonwealth Universitywhere she also made the Deans Listwith a double major in Biology and Chemistry. She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery summa cum laude at Virginia Commonwealth University, followed by post-graduate training at Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia.
I decided to become an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in my third year of dental school, continues Dr. Rostami. I had been shadowing doctors in different departments and took a lot of trauma calls. As a result, I had to perform challenging, complex surgical procedures. It was the combination of medicine and dentistry which drew me to this specialty.
Dr. Rostami provides the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures, with special interest in dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, bone grafting surgeries, orthognathic surgery, facial reconstruction, TMJ disorders and cosmetic procedures. She has also trained extensively on in-office sedation and general anesthesia.
A favorite aspect of my work is partnering with general dentists in the community, adds Dr. Rostami. When asked, I help these doctors better understand oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures and benefits. And as partners, we share the common purpose of achieving optimal oral health for patients, continues Dr. Rostami. Theres little more gratifying than working together for the good of a patient.
Dr. Rostami also stresses the importance of keeping in close touch with referring doctors about their patients. I make it a point to keep a general dentist in the loop as regards his patients treatment every step of the way, Dr. Rostami explains. And since these doctors tend to be very busy, I often send text messages with the details so the doctor can get a convenient, instant update.
Dr. Rostami is an active member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, Greater Washington Association of Women Dentists, Middle Atlantic Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Maryland State Dental Association and Maryland Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and Virginia Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. She is a strong believer in volunteer work and has participated in multiple dental outreaches in underserved areas of Virginia. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling and various athletic activities. Dr. Rostami looks forward to meeting you and serving your oral surgical and cosmetic needs.
Dr. Rostami is also available to treat emergency cases, including complex extractions, knocked-out teeth, mandible fractures and much more. Our first priority is to relieve your patients discomfort as quickly as possible and then rapidly diagnose and treat the underlying cause, comments Dr. Rostami. Capital Oral & Facial Surgery Center mourns the passing of its founder Dr. Virginia E. Lee, DMD. Dr. Lee touched the lives of thousands of people in our community. Her memory will continue to live among her family, patients and colleagues.
Dr. Lee was born and raised in York, Pennsylvania. She attended Franklin and Marshall College, where she received a Bachelors Degree in biology. She went on to earn her DMD from Temple University in Philadelphia. Following dental school, Dr. Lee received her training in oral and maxillofacial surgery from University of Maryland Medical Systems and from R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Lee devoted her professional career to all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Lee started her practice in 1998, and it continues now as Capital Oral & Facial Surgery Center. Dr. Lees expert knowledge of oral surgery and her personalized approach to treating patients made her a sought-after practitioner for patients who want the highest levels of surgical care. A gentle and compassionate chairside rapport was as much a part of her success as her unparalleled clinical skill.

I strongly recommend Dr Rostami and her team. I had a complicated upper implant which involved lifting the sinus, bone grafts etc. and sedation. The entire staff was wonderful -- friendly and very professional. Dr Rostami was excellent. She explained everything thoroughly, listened carefully and answered all my questions. I can't say I exactly "enjoyed" the experience, but it was about as close to that you can get in dental surgery!

Dr. Rostami and her staff are just simply amazing. Dr. Rostami deserves more than five star rating. I had my surgery done today (a very complicated surgery) and I was very nervous since it was my first time going under anesthesia. Dr. Rostami and her staff answered all of questions and they made me feel so comfortable. I had no pain or discomfort after the surgery at all. Even though it was a very difficult procedure, I'm feeling perfectly fine now. The staff are very nice and professional. They explained to me all the fees and nothing was hidden from me. Also, Dr. Rostami and her staff were not pushy at all. If you want a smart, honest, and experienced oral surgeon then Dr. Rostami is the right doctor. I couldn't be happier with the services that they provided me with and they made my dentist experience a very pleasant one.

If you are looking for the best oral surgeon in town, I wouldn't go anywhere else. I had the worst anxiety before having my wisdom teeth extracted, Dr. Rostami calmed my nerves and explained to me each step of the process as she was extracting my teeth. It was a great experience! I barely felt anything! I have referred several of my friends to this practice. One other thing I appreciate is that her office is always clean and she has friendly staff

I can't recommend Dr. Rostami and her team enough! I dreaded having my wisdom teeth removed for years, but the team at Capital Oral & Facial Surgery Center made the process easy and made me feel safe and cared for. I had an initial consultation with Dr. Rostami where she presented a plan for my surgery, listened to my concerns, and explained my procedure options thoroughly and clearly. The office manager also walked me through my bill and was transparent about the cost of the procedure. The actual surgery was so easy that I can't even believe I dreaded it for so long! Dr. Rostami and her team went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and understood the aftercare process. Definitely give her practice a visit if you're nervous about oral surgery (like I was).

Dr. Rostami and her staff are outstanding. I would give more than 5 stars if I could. I had four of my wisdom teeth taken out last week and the experience was much better than I expected. The surgery went well and I recovered fairly quickly. They did a great job explaining everything during the consultation, before and after the surgery, and during the follow up. Dr. Rostami was also very easily available when I needed to call with any questions. If you need oral surgery, I would highly recommend Dr. Rostami.

Gave her a good review when I first went to her after a consultation. However, I went through an ordeal with her billing department. The prices quoted in the consultation did not match what was billed to me. Despite their financial mishaps, the billing department/office management refused to release the needed material to my general dentist so the full the procedure could be completed. I ended up paying extra money. Her bedside manner became uncomfortably condescending. Had to do it all over again, would find another dental surgeon.

Dr. Rostami is Amazing! she is compassionate and very skilled! the office is organized and well staffed. They have good Covid protocols in place which makes made me feel safe and comfortable. They are also very accommodating! highly recommend this office

I had a very positive experience the moment I walked through the doors! First off the office is gorgeous and does not have your typical doctor office feel. The front desk was welcoming, kind, and helpful and there was fun music playing (which was a great touch). I did my consultation and wisdom teeth extraction all at once. The consultation was efficient (they had high end equipment) and the best part was the discussion with the financial person to go over exactly what insurance was paying and what I was paying. There were no surprises! In the medical field it is very rare to know what you are paying up front so I really liked this aspect. They also provided an optional service and went over the benefits if it was something I wanted to do. Lastly, Dr. Farzaneh Rostami was wonderful and made me feel very comfortable. The procedure was quick and she did a great job. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Dr. Rostami and her whole office were wonderful! I was able to get a wisdom tooth consultation and extraction in the same day, which was really helpful and convenient. Everyone was transparent and reassuring about every step of the process.

Found out I needed one wisdom tooth removed, was having the worst time finding an oral surgeon who took my insurance. I ended up finding Dr. Rostami and her practice Capitol Oral & Facial Surgery Center online, read reviews, used the chat late one night on their website to ask a question about what insurances they accepted and received a call from them early the next morning. Right away I was impressed by the professionalism and efficiency of this practice! Unfortunately they didn't take my insurance and I was facing the dilemma of having to either pay out of pocket or go to the single in-network oral surgeon I found who had low reviews on medical review sites and whose practice seemed completely disorganized and was already giving me a bad experience vibe. I was told if I came to see Dr. Rostami they had a special running for a consultation plus 3D x-ray. I was very relieved with the price because most practices were double if not triple just for a consultation an x-ray wouldn't be included. On top of that I was told I could do same day procedure which as someone who lives a bit of a ways away was such a wonderful bit of information to hear! Due to past issues and anxiousness regarding complications about my oral surgeries I requested to have sedation where I couldn't feel and could sleep especially after finding out the tooth was impacted... Dr. Rostami didn't try and talk me out of anything she simply listened and told me my options, and what she would recommend for my situation. She went over how to take care of my mouth afterword and what to expect. The surgery itself was quick, no issues... I didn't need any stitches or heavy pain relief. Simple prescriptions and rest and within a few days I felt great, hardly could tell I even had surgery, what a difference from my other oral surgeries! The overall price was more than what I expected however, being that I had to pay out of pocket and my insurance wasn't covering anything the price was quite reasonable for what all was included and the services I received, especially if you compare it to other practices. Dr. Rostami and the office manager are willing to work with you on the price and help as much as they can to make it affordable. I called so many times to inquire about different things and was always treated and greeted so kindly. Everyone was so amicable! From the office staff to the nurses all the way up to Dr. Rostami herself! I recommend Capitol Oral & Facial Surgery Center to anyone who needs oral surgery or assistance! The practice is clean, modern and up to date with the latest technology and all the staff from the office to medical are so kind and wonderful. Thank you Dr. Rostami and everyone at Capitol Oral & Facial Surgery Center for easing my anxieties and making my experience a positive one. Also, as a side note... as a woman of color myself it was so wonderful to see an all female women of color practice, made me feel like I would be heard, listened to and treated with respect, and I absolutely was.

Currently in treatment with this doctor and so far I'm very impressed. She's attentive and systematic. I shopped around for oral surgeons prior to Dr Rostami. I see why she has all the positive reviews.

I had a really good experience with Dr. Rostami and her staff. They are efficient, professional, and kind. I went in for a consultation about having all four of my wisdom teeth removed and felt pretty good about the practice so I went ahead with it. Her staff are like a team of medical elves who whisk you away, put you to sleep, do their magic, and send you on your way with everything you need. They were very friendly and put me at ease throughout the process. They also emphasized that I should call them any time of day or night with any questions or concerns. One thing to note is that extra-strength ibuprofen is the only thing they prescribe for post-extraction pain, so no Vicodin etc. That made me pretty anxious beforehand because it was my first time having surgery and I was afraid I'd have a lot of pain. It turned out the ibuprofen worked very well for me but I'd have felt much calmer if they had said something like, "let us know if your pain isn't managed with the ibuprofen and we can help." Overall I'd recommend this practice for wisdom tooth extraction.
