Today, Brooklyn Heights Dental is only about three miles from where Dr. Eugene D. Stanislaus' father, Dr. Lamuel Stanislaus, started the family business in 1956. When Dr. Lamuel Stanislaus practiced, he was not only a caring and compassionate community dentist, but also an active and influential member of the community in other ways. As one of the founding members of the West Indian Day Parade, Dr. Lamuel Stanislaus saw the event move from its more humble beginnings to what it is today - a festival attended by millions on Brooklyn's Eastern Parkway. The parade is now attended by many prominent politicians and provides a substantial boost to local economy. After handing over the practice to his son, Eugene, Dr. Lamuel Stanislaus' retirement has not been without excitement. He is the former representative of his native country Grenada as Ambassador at Large to the United Nations. After all these years, Brooklyn Heights Dental is still providing personalized family dental care and cosmetic dentistry to patients from Brooklyn Heights, Fort Greene, Park Slope, and other areas across New York City. As a sign of respect for all his father has accomplished in dentistry and in life, Dr. Eugene D. Stanislaus still hangs his father's name from the door of his office.
Dr. Eugene D. Stanislaus and his entire staff are dedicated to continuing the exceptional and personalized care that Brooklyn Heights Dental has long been know for. Along with Dr. Stanislaus, Dr. Lisa Reid plays an important rolein the provision of advanced dental care for our patients.
Dr. Reid is committed to utilizing an evidence-based approach to deliver outstanding care to her patients. Dr. Reid is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at New York University College of Dentistry and a member of the American Dental Association and the American College of Prosthodontists. She has guest lectured at various Midwestern dental meetings on topics such as 'Achieving Esthetic Outcomes with Anterior Implant Restorations,' 'Simplified Approaches to Patient Rehabilitation' and 'Treatment Planning the Edentulous Patient.' Dr. Reid brings a wide range of experiences to Brooklyn Heights Dental particularly in the areas of implant, esthetic and reconstructive dentistry.
Dr. Stanislaus leads a Brooklyn Heights dental practice that has a storied history that reaches back more than five decades. His father, Dr. Lamuel Stanislaus, started the family business in 1956. He was both a caring community dentist and an influential community leader. Upon his retirement in 1985, his son, Dr. Eugene Stanislaus, acquired the dental practice.
Dr. Eugene Stanislaus at Brooklyn Heights Dental studied at some of the best dental schools and institutes in the United States. He has extensive training in cosmetic, implant, and restorative dentistry.
Dr. Stanislaus is a diplomate and fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, a fellow of the International College of Dentists, and a graduate and fellow of the renowned Misch International Implant Institute's surgical and prosthetic programs. Dr. Stanislaus is also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Stanislaus stays at the leading edge of dentistry through continuing education and by constantly adapting to advances in the field. He was one of the first four dentists in New York City to become certified in advanced LANAP laser gum surgery. This advanced technique, which stimulates growth of healthy gum tissue around teeth, is the only periodontal laser treatment approved by the FDA.

Dr. Lisa Reid is a highly skilled prosthodontist and a valuable member of the team at Brooklyn Heights Dental. She is an accomplished professional, with years of experience providing optimal restorative dentistry solutions for patients with missing teeth.
Dr. Reid joined our Brooklyn Heights, NY, practice in 2009andbrings a wide range of private practice and educational experiences to Brooklyn Heights Dental, particularly in the areas of implant, cosmetic, and reconstructive dentistry.
Dr. Reid is aprosthodontist, meaning she focuses on repairing damaged teeth and replacing missing teeth with prosthetic restorations. Like other prosthodontists, Dr. Reid can perform all general dental services, but offers specific expertise in teeth replacement with dental crowns, dental bridges, and dentures. She has a special interest in prosthetics that are held in place bydental implants.
At Brooklyn Heights Dental, Dr. Reid works together with Dr. Eugene Stanislaus to provide functional and natural-looking restorations for patients who have loose or missing teeth. She particularly enjoys finding effective solutions for patients who have an existing dental appliance that isineffective or problematic.
Dr. Reids role in dentistry and prosthodontics benefits patients of Brooklyn Heights Dental as well as the upcoming generation of dentists. She hasheld the role of Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at the New York University College of Dentistry.
Her experience includes membership in the American Dental Association and the American College of Prosthodontists. She has guest lectured at various Midwestern dental meetings. She received her dentistry degree from the University of Pennsylvania Dental School, which was followed by a three-year residency in postgraduate prosthodontics at the University of Iowa.
She was then asked to join the faculty of the University of Iowa as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Dentistry. At the same time, she maintained an active private practice serving restorative dentistry patients.
The service was excellent from the moment I entered the office. Until I left. The greeting on arrival was lovely. Dr Stanislaus assistant was amazing. He was fantastic. Great relaxing music! I am a gynecologist and was in the Operating Room from 7:30 am. I was tired when I got to the office. I slept for 75% of the time while Dr Stanislaus did my procedure. He was efficient and absolutely mastered his craft. I was very happy with the care. I didnt need not one of the Motrin that I was prescribed. Thanks to the entire team His daughter was caring, kind and made the process quite smooth
I have a rare nerve disorder in my face that makes it really hard to have anything touch my face, even wind. I have been able to manage it and can see a dentist but as you may have guessed it is still very hard for me because the fear of that pain is always present. However when my Neurologist suggested I go to Brooklyn Heights dental I gave it a shot. And it was the best thing I couldve done. Every single person from the dentist, the dental hygienists to support staff and reception Have been amazing they make you feel at ease. They take their time and they wont begin before youre ready and they do exceptional work Im really happy to have found them.
A graduate of Swarthmore College in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Dr. Vonderheide received her doctor of dental medicine (DMD) degree with clinical honors from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
Upon graduation from Penn, Dr. Vonderheide completed a three-year residency in postgraduate prosthodontics at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. While at Montefiore Medical Center, she received extensive training in different dental care disciplines. Her residency training included work on full mouth reconstructions, oral surgery to place dental implants, the creation of implant restorations, and the use of maxillofacial prosthetics to treat disabilities or injuries that were the result of genetics or physical trauma.
A prosthodontist is a dentist who specializes in treating complicated issues that affect a person's oral and facial health. In addition to completing the traditional four years of dental school, a prosthodontist has also completed at least three years of additional postgraduate education in other aspects of dentistry. Dr. Vonderheide's focus on oral rehabilitation and dental implants helps her treat tooth loss and extensive dental health problems.

Dr. Stanislaus is an excellent dentist from the time I walked in, he made me feel comfortable and explained every step of the procedure. I had two crowns done the procedure was pain free. His hands work magic the crowns same as my natural teeth color and fit was perfect. His staff from the front desk Peggy and Lynn were welcoming. DH Melissa done excellent job in cleaning my teeth. Dental assistants were hands on and made me free comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Stanislaus for dental work.

Review from a patient who has literally seen 5 different dentists in the past 12 years living in NY- and has had a TON of dental work done in her mouth. Dr.Stanislaus and the rest of his team at Clinton Street Dental have saved my teeth! I came in with a bone infection and had to get extractions and fillings- the works! They were extremely competent, always took their time and made me feel very comfortable. Not to mention, the best cleaning I've ever had done. I've now come back for Zoom whitening which I loved the results of. Dr.Stanislaus really cares about the work he does, as well as his patients. He always called to check up on how I was feeling after a procedure. He was reachable with any questions or concerns Also, I've never waited more than 5-10 mins to be seen. It's a dream! I would highly recommend them!

The last few days I've been having extreme pain because my wisdom teeth needed to be pulled. I did some research and came across Dr. Stanislaus office. After my initial call, they were able to schedule me a same day appointment and not only did I recieve x-rays, I also was able to have the full procedure shortly after. Now this was my very first time havig them pulled and the Doctor finesed the enitire procedure beautifully. The only thing I felt was the numbing process at the beginning. He sticthed my mouth like Picasso!!! The front desk staff was friendly and their music selection was amazing. I absolutely recommend Dr. Stanislaus.

The receptionists are amazing and friendly. You are always warmly greeted with your name and a smile. They are accommodating with appointment times and as a student with a crazy schedule this is essential. The hygienist is the sweetest woman alive. The dental assistants are gentle and made me feel at ease. Dr. Stanislaus deserves a "Best Bedside Manner" award. Unlike ordinary dentists, he goes above and beyond in each step of the process. He often comes out to the waiting room to greet you before you are led into your room. He takes his time to explain each process of your dental treatment and encourages questions. Especially if you don't ask any! He wants to make sure you feel comfortable and are aware of what will happen. As truly thoughtful doctor, he apologizes in advance before he injects you with any needles which 1. he isn't to blame for and 2. do not hurt because he uses a numbing cream from the needle. The team the Dr. Stanislaus has built makes his office the only place I will ever get my dental work done and the only office I will recommend.

I was terrified of going to the dentist; however, it came to the point where is was now an emergency. I had an two extractions and two implants that needed to be done. Dr. Stanislaus and his staff put me at ease and set up a quick appointment for the work to be done, He explained each procedure, how long it would take and what I should expect before during and after. I am happy to say, there was no pain or anxiety during the procedures and very little discomfort after. His office is well kept and his staff is exceptional. Dr. Stanislaus is now my primary dentist and i show up for all my appointments without fear. I would highly recommend him to everyone.
