It's important to stay abreast of the latest dental techniques and treatments. There are always new innovations that mean more comfortable effective care for my patients. Through active participation in professional organizations, I am able to meet with fellow professionals, share our concerns, and learn about new developments.
By sharing information with other doctors, we all stay up-to-date on the latest changes in dentistry. That means our patients benefit from state-of-the-art care. I do my part by sharing information on Periodontics and Implantology in articles, journals, and lectures. I am a referee for an international scientific journal.
As a part time faculty at the dental school of University of Washington, I like to share my more than 30 years clinical and research experience with my students. More importantly, this is a way to pay back to school and community.
Having been to more than twenty different countries across Europe, Asia and North America, I enjoy traveling and meeting different people and cultures. My broad hobbies keep me more relaxed and skillful when not providing care in our clinic.
I've been working as a periodontal assistant since the year 2000, and with Dr. Mao since 2005. I still enjoy coming to work everyday, working side by side with my amazing team members, and getting to know and help each patient. My flexible job positionasa chairside assistant most days, and front office assistant on Fridays, allows me to get to know both sides of the office, and helps me appreciate both equally. Outside of the office, I enjoy volunteering, the outdoors, reading, and spending time with my husband and two beautiful daughters.
I began my work in the dental field as a dental assistant, and then later went on to pursue my career in Hygiene. I fell in love with the perio-involved patients during my clinical. Following graduation from Shoreline Community College, I had the opportunity to immediately start working in a Periodontal office. When my former Periodontist retired, I was introduced to, and hired by Dr Mao, here at Periodontics Northwest.
I enjoy educating and working with our patients. It is my desire to make their dental experience enjoyable and to help them feel at ease. I feel fortunate to work with such a supportive staff, who strive to always put patient care at the forefront.
When I am not at the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am the mother of three incredible young men. I love sewing and painting, the outdoors, bicycling, hiking with my dogs, road trips and traveling back road on my Harley.
I graduated from West Coast Dental Assisting School, in Bothell in 2016 and began working with Dr Mao January 2017. I enjoy getting to know people from all backgrounds, and this has helped me to better understand patient needs. It's been a pleasure working with such a great team and kind Doctor--it is helping me continue to grow as an Assistant!
I have enjoyed working in the dental field for 25 years. I become on board with Periodontics NW in Feb., 2020. The short time that I have been here I have enjoy working with Dr. Mao and these amazing ladies. I enjoy spending my time off relaxing with my handsome young man and beautiful baby girl.
