I love getting to know each patient, learning their personal stories and journeys. Orthodontics allows me one-on-one time with patients: I love when a person comes out of their shell and starts sharing their personality with me and our team. It is always exciting to see someone move from being withdrawn and self-conscious about their teeth to being full of confidence, with a smile they want to share!

One of the most exciting aspects of orthodontics, to me, is the ongoing research that leads to new techniques, materials, and technologies. I stay current on these advances through continuing education classes, participation in study groups, and attendance at meetings, lectures, and seminars.

I am an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics, as well as the American Dental Association. These organizations offer many continuing educational opportunities, during which I learn from leaders in the specialty and from my peers. The organizations also provide many journals and other publications that discuss the latest research and new methodologies.

I love spending my free time with my family. We especially enjoy traveling and exploring the United States. We also love going to baseball games. Being that we are originally from the Chicago area, we are Cubs fans, but we always root for the Reds when theyre not playing the Cubs!

My husband and I have always volunteered to coach at the Parks Department in Madison. As our children have grown, we have concentrated our efforts on coaching at the junior high and high school levels. I also enjoy various other volunteer activities, including working at our local food banks and raising donations for these organizations.

My team is exceptional in so many ways. Each truly cares about our patients and wants everyone to feel comfortable, welcomed, and confident in the care we provide. Each is dedicated to their professional education, as well:constantly learning new ideas, sharing them with one another, and incorporating them into our practice.

My favorite experience is when we have a patient who goes from being ashamed of their teeth to smiling from ear-to-ear! Dr. Pawlak is fun, energetic, and insightful. She and my coworkers all pitch in to help each other, so were able to provide the best care, and best smiles, to our patients!

Im usually with my family when Im not in the office. My husband, Jason, and I have five children, three grandchildren, and four very spoiled Dachshunds who think that theyre human! We love being with family and friends and enjoy some down time watching movies. I am a member of Tri-Kappa and love helping with community events, too.

My family keeps me busy when Im not at work. My husband, Tim, and I have three children: Waylon, Kinlee, and Mazie Jane. We love the outdoors, especially camping and boating, and love going to Florida, too. Boca Grande is our favorite place to vacation.

Yes, work keeps me busy, but when Im not in the office, Im usually painting or starting a new creative project at home. I have artwork in our local gallery here in Madison, Gallery 115, and have showcased in several shows up in the Indianapolis area. Aside from painting, I can mostly be found at home watching Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune with my family.
