Dr. Weenig received his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He attended dental school at The University of Iowa, in Iowa City, Iowa. He completed his periodontal residency at The University of Iowa, where he not only received his specialty certificate, but also completed a Master Degree in Oral Biology.
Dr. Weenig taught in the senior and junior clinics at the College of Dentistry at The University of Iowa, and has served an adjunct faculty member as well. Dr. Weenig was actively involved in research during dental school and his residency program, and has been published in his profession's journal, The Journal of Periodontology, as well as sited in various other publications.
His research has included the relationship between periodontal disease, pregnancy and diabetes, dental implants, and periodontal tissues and disease. He is actively involved in continuing education, not only for himself and his staff, but provides continuing education for dentists and hygienists throughout western Colorado and eastern Utah during the year.
He has been consistently named by his peers as one of Colorado's best dentists as reported by 5280 Magazine. He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association and the Academy of Osseointegration.

I do not recommend Dr. Weenig. They are very rude and will lie to get your money. Please don't support this doctor as he is not ethical and does not care about anything but money. Please consider this review when looking for a good periodontist and don't give this guy your time of day and move on to someone that has good intentions.

I've had a couple different procedures: gum grafts, etc and Dr Weenig and his staff are so thorough, caring, communicative, professional and all around awesome!! I can't imagine going anywhere else. Fantastic experiences. Highly recommended!

Dr. Weenig and each member of his staff are all very caring and provide exceptional service. I recently had a gum graft and was very nervous about the procedure. They made it as painless and unintimidating as possible. The staff members were so kind that I enjoyed going in for my follow ups and seeing their friendly faces. If you are looking for top-notch periodontist, I highly recommend Dr. Weenig and his staff.
