Drs. Doug and Cathy Smith began their husband-wife dental practice in Seymour, TN in 1985; two years after the duo graduated from Dental School in Memphis, TN. Their goal was to establish a small-town, community setting within their practice. To this day, the practice continues to grow with the community.

The entire staff is well-educated in the field of dentistry and continues to stay updated on the latest skills and technology. From general to cosmetic dental procedures, our team is confident we can meet all of your dental health needs.

Dr. Doug has been practicing dentistry for 37 years. He graduated from Oak Ridge High School and then on to UT Knoxville for his Bachelors Degree in Zoology. His next four years were spent at the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences in Memphis for his Dental Degree. He and wife Dr. Cathy Smith moved back to East Tennessee to marry and start a practice near their families. They have 2 adult children, Graham and Caroline, Son-in-law Audie and grandson Audie Douglas. Dr. Doug enjoys playing golf, his favorite pastime aside from spending time with his grandson. He is a lifelong fan of the UT Vols. Sports are his favorite topic.

Dr. Cathy has been practicing general dentistry in Seymour for 37 years. She graduated Clinton High School followed by UT Knoxville acquiring a Bachelors Degree in Biology. After 4 years at UT Center for Health Sciences she became a General Dentist. She and Dr Doug then moved back to East Tennessee to be close to family and later start their own Dental Practice. Their children include Graham, Caroline, son-in-law Audie and grandsons Audie Douglas and Zeke. Second to being a mother/grandmother Dr. Cathy is a painter, potter, gardener, and amazing cook. She is an avid student of Nutrition and health in general.

Kim, our office manager, started with us in 1989. She holds a wealth of knowledge in the dental world and truly loves working with our patients to ensure they are well taken care of. Kim and her husband Steve have three children and five grandchildren. Outside of work, Kim loves to go to the beach and has developed a taste for traveling to places shes never been.

Laura has been in the dental field since 1994 and joined our team in 2021. Her passion is to help our patients feel comfortable and welcome. Laura and her husband Dennis have three daughters and two grandchildren. Outside of work, Laura enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family as well as working alongside her husband in ministry.

Cami has been a Hygienist since 1988 and joined our team in 2017. She prides herself in the personalized care each patient receives from her and truly enjoys getting to know her patients. Outside of work, Cami enjoys traveling to the beach with her husband Jim and two children, as well as cooking and reading.

Bethany has been a Hygienist since 2007 and joined our team in 2017. Her favorite part of what she does is interacting with and getting to know her patients. Bethany and her husband Nick have two children, and a sweet Goldendoodle Ruger. Outside of work, Bethany enjoys watching sports and vacationing with her family.

Amy has been a Hygienist since 2004 and joined our team in 2017. Her passion for dental hygiene is evident in the quality care she gives to each of her patients. Outside of work, Amy enjoys exploring the mountains of East Tennessee and antiquing with her husband Jared and two children.

Tekka, our lead assistant, has been dental assisting since 1997 and joined our team in 2002. Her ability to understand and communicate the needs and concerns of her patients are of top priority for her. Outside of work, Tekka, her husband Tony, and her two daughters, along with their Black Lab Duncan enjoy hiking, boating, and traveling.

Chelsea has been a Dental Assistant since 2014 and joined our team in 2015. Her sweet nature and positive attitude helps our patients feel relaxed and comfortable during their visit. Chelsea and her husband Caleb have two sons. Outside of work, Chelsea enjoys hanging out with her family and being involved with her church family.

Ellie started dental assisting in 1996 and joined our team in 2021. Being able to give patients individualized care makes her feel useful and needed. Ellie and her husband Bobby have one daughter. Outside of work, Ellie enjoys camping, motorcycle riding, antiquing, and going back home to Kentucky.
