Dr. Douglas G. Hope is a southern California native. After attending high school in the Los Angeles and Orange County area, he attended the University of California at San Diego and earned his Bachelors Degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry. After working as a Chemist for a few years in San Diego, Dr. Hope found his calling in Dentistry. He graduated from the University of California at San Francisco School of Dentistry in 1998, with the degree of Doctorate in Dental Surgery.
Our goal to be the best dental practice in Escondido wouldnt be a reality without the support of our patients and our exceptional team. Comprised of Periodontal Therapists, Treatment Coordinators, and Scheduling Coordinators we have a remarkable and highly skilled staff in Escondido, CA.
Having served Escondido with quality dental care for almost two decades, the staff at Douglas G Hope, DDS still sees patients light up when greeted by our upbeat and energetic team. Our office is constantly improving the way we serve our patients, curating their dental experience to be one of a kind. Were just regular people, and we do our best for each of our patients.
Our state of the art dental imaging reduces the radiation exposure of traditional dental x-rays by up to 90% while capturing a virtual 3D roadmap of the teeth, gums, jawbone, and nerves. Our dental radiographs are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health so our team can treat cavities, tooth decay and even symptoms of dental traumabefore they become more complex or difficult to treat.
Having lived throughout California, Dr. Hope knew San Diego was in his future, so he attended another year of advanced dental studies with a General Practice Residency at the Veterans Hospital in La Jolla.
Dr. Hope was selected for one of only three positions that were open to graduating dentists applying throughout the entire United States. There, he learned advanced techniques on how to restore complex and extremely difficult restorative and prosthetic cases. He also worked with and managed medically compromised patients, and received one-on-one training from several dental specialists.
Dr. Hopes philosophy is patient-centered dental care. He believes every patient deserves the best and most advanced dental care possible and feels that they should be involved in the decision-making process. That cant happen without being fully knowledgeable about the treatment plan. By educating patients about their oral health, Dr. Hope opens up the conversation and gets patients to their best options.
To deliver the best dental care possible a dentist has to be fully committed to continuing education. Dr. Hope has achieved the titles of FAGD- Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and FICOI- Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology. These designations are awarded to dentists who dedicate themselves to continued training and education so they may deliver the best dental care available for the health, comfort and long-term wellness of their patients.
When hes not in the office, Dr. Hope enjoys spending time with his family and engaging in hobbies such as woodworking, cooking or working out. You may also find the team at Douglas G Hope, DDSreaching out to the community and sharing good dental hygiene education in local schools.

I am Kathleen Godwin posting on my husbands account. I am a new patient at this office and had my first teeth cleaning appt. today. I had Meg, the hygienist, who did the best cleaning I've had in 20 years. I am a retired hygienist with 16 years of dental experience, so I feel qualified to make this statement. After re-locating to the east coast 20 years ago, I tried to find a dentist/hygienist that I felt confident in. Came close, but nothing like the office I'd worked in in the Seattle area. Not until we came back to the west coast and I found Dr. Hope and his wonderful staff. Like Dr. Hope and the other staff that I'd previously met, Meg is friendly, very skillful and gentle, easy to talk to. I went to Dr. Hope's office because I needed a crown, I was very pleased with his work . The Dr. and his staff are very nice. Dr. Hope is an excellent dentist. I would highly recommend him.

I was so very happy to be referred to Dr. Hope by a friend when I moved back down here. I absolutely LOVE Dr. Hope and his staff. They are all incredibly friendly, and put you at ease right away. Dr. Hope is very patient, and takes time to explain everything, answer questions, as well as listening to any concerns you might have. Highly recommend you go to him if you need a dentist!

How often do you hear I love my Dental team? Well come here and you'll wish you had never gone elsewhere. You can come in with a bad tooth and walk out an hour later with a brand new one better and prettier than baby teeth. You will actually look forward to every visit.

Douglas Hope and his professionally trained staff by far eliminated any fear or doubt I ever had, it was completely disarming with such professionalism and cleanliness. Douglas Hope and staff are completely aware of clients needs and fears. He has transformed my life by reconstructing my dental and taking care of painful issues.
