Douglas D. Durbin, DMD, MSD, is the President and Owner of Kentucky Orthodontics & Invisalign, with 7office locations across Kentucky. Dr. Durbin has been in practice for over 35 years and has always offered the latest techniques and technologies to improve his patients' oral health and the appearance of their smiles. He is a fellow of both the College of Dentistry at the University of Kentucky and the World Federation of Orthodontics. Dr. Durbin experienced his undergraduate education at the University of Kentuckyin Lexington, KY. From there, he continued his education and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)degree from the College of Dentistry at UK. After receiving his doctorate, he served as Captain in the United States Air Force Dental Corps for nearly 4years. Once his military service was complete, he returned to the University of Kentucky for his Master ofScience in Dentistry (MSD) as a specialist inOrthodontics. After receiving his MSD, he pursued and attained AmericanBoard Certification and further education and training to become a certified Invisalignprovider. Dr. Durbin recognized the value of continuing his education earlyin his career, therefore he has undergone additional training indentofacial orthopedics, surgical orthodontics, lingual orthodontics, TMJ (TMD) treatment,Invisaligntreatment, orthodontic technology, cosmetic correction procedures, plusorthodontic diagnosis, treatment, and lifelong or permanent retention.
Dr. Durbin is passionate about educating othersand working alongsidehis peers to advancethe field of orthodontics. He has lectured to leading orthodontists on a national scale regarding headgear-free dento-facial orthopedic Herbst appliance therapies and has made network television appearancesto discuss various topics in orthodontics. As a recognized authority on dento-facialorthopedics, Dr. Durbin has contributed greatly to the field through his 12-year research study of lifetime efficacyand benefits of fixed bonded invisible wire retainers, as well as his published studyfor the Journal ofClinical Orthodontics. His work, leadership, and expertise has also added significantly to the American Association of Orthodontists, which supports orthodontic research and fellowship worldwide.
I feel very blessedto play such an important role in the lives of so many people. To be able to combine my artistic tendencies, my concern for others, and my strong sense of integrity each day is very gratifying. Yet, the real reward comes from helping kids and adults to feel comfortable with their appearance and live their lives with confidence and higher self-esteem with LIFE-LASTING results.After over 35 yearsas an orthodontist, I'm still very powerfully motivated by this. Dr. Durbin is also greatly involved in his community outside his office as well. He served asan Elder at Great Commission Fellowship Church in Wilmore, KYand currently is an active partner with Southland Christian Church. They did a wonderful making my smile perfect. They placed my permanent retainer in 2008 and my teeth have not moved out of line since. Also, Dr. Durbin and his staff are wonderful to work with.

Dr. Durbin and the entire staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They will honestly listen to all of your concerns and make sure you are comfortable before proceeding with any treatment. I would highly recommend them to any of my friends and family.

Awesome experience! When my daughter started with Dr. Durbin she was 11, now she's 14 and just got her braces off! Her teeth look absolutely gorgeous! We couldn't of asked for a more down to earth, friendly atmosphere! They are all so welcoming and caring! A great group of professionals!

I did Invisalign with Dr. Durbin and the whole experience was wonderful! I had braces as a kid and my teeth and bite had shifted in adulthood so Invisalign was a good match for me. It's a good product but I think the experience could be tainted through a bad office. Dr. Durbin is knowledgeable and very kind, he listened well to all my concerns and I really trusted his input. I also LOVE LOVE the ladies in his office. Also, practically no wait times and quick appointments. Would recommend him again and again.

I have had my braces off for 23 years. Dr. Durbin is wonderful. Permanent retainers are wonderful. He always goes above and beyond to suit needs to his patients!! 10/10

I have been going to Dr. Durbin at his Lexington office since I was in my freshman year of high school. He put mine and my sisters braces on with immaculate results and always the best of care. Today (6 years later) I am in college and work full time so it is very hard for me to get to appointments and I live an hour north of Lexington. Dr durbin cosmetically bonded and fixed a gap I had from a broken retainer for only $75 and I couldn't be happier. These people truly care about their patients and make the drive worth it everytime!!!!

As a teen, I had buck teeth and my parents insisted I go into braces so I did. Despite their meager income braces were high on their priority list. So, when my daughter needed braces twenty-five years later there was no question, after all my parents struggled to provide them for me so I would do the same for her. Living in Lexington at the time, Dr. Durbin was highly recommended by a friend so I chose him as her orthodontist. In addition, he had a payment plan that we could afford. When the braces were taken off Dr. Durbin placed a permanent retainer on her lower teeth so her teeth would not move. At that time, a permanent retainer was not used by all dentists. She is now forty-four years old with perfect teeth. I on the other hand did not have a forward-thinking orthodontist and had no permanent retainer. Despite having braces, myself as a teenager, at the age of fifty-five years my lower teeth were a jumbled mess. Because we were very pleased with Dr. Durbin - his easy-going manner, his insistence on the importance of keeping our teeth healthy, and his continued efforts to update himself on the latest in the orthodontics world, I returned to him for my second set of braces. Now, fifteen years later and because Dr. Durbin placed permanent retainers on my upper and lower teeth, my teeth have not moved and I can smile with confidence.

I love Dr. Durbin!! I have been a patient of his since 1984! I went through braces with him, and due to not wearing my top retainer as I was supposed to, had to get braces again from him! My bottom retainer has been in place since 1989 and is still going strong! I strongly recommend you to visit this practice if you or any of your children are in need of any orthodontics! Staff is helpful and friendly and honestly Dr. Durbin is THE best!!

Dr. Durbin has been amazing since day 1. He goes above and beyond to assist the needs of his patients. He will go into great details of your specific orthodontic needs and will go to the lengths of sending you your own clincheck, if you're using Invisalign, so that you can see how your teeth are moving every week. It's important to have an orthodontist who is knowledgeable and truly has your best interest at all times. I would easily recommend him to anyone!

Both of my children have seen Dr. Durbin and his staff for years. Both of them have perfect teeth, thanks to his professionalism. BEST place to go. Honest and reasonably priced. Have been to several of his locations and always treated well by the friendly staff.
