I am married and have two little boys. We moved away from San Francisco after 10 years of living in the city because our adorable 1-bedroom apartment was just a little too small for our family of four.
Family is very important to me. I look forward to my Fridays off, when I get time in with my youngest in the morning and we pick up food for my oldest and meet him at school for lunch. We have extended family dinners twice a week; we are really lucky and both grandmas are awesome chefs. In my spare time I enjoy photography, eating out, and playing video games.
I have a lot of experience working with teeth that are severely compromised and have seen teeth in almost every state imaginable. I strongly believe that dental decay and gum disease are largely preventable and try very hard to educate patients so we can stabilize existing disease and hopefully prevent future problems.
I believe that every person is different and special. Everyone should be comfortable and informed when they make decisions regarding their health and their body. It is important to me that each patient is ready for the treatment before we begin.

Dr. Toy has a great practice in Redwood City, CA. She is gentle and thorough. She discusses my dental health clearly and makes recommendations that are in my best interest, rather than for her bottom line. If you cannot say the same about your current dentist, you should look her up.

I have been a patient of Dr. Toy since she took over this practice several years ago. Since I live close to the office, I will sometimes drop in when I have a problem. Often when I drop in, she will see me immediately, so I won't have to wait for an appointment. The Dr. and staff are very professional and friendly.

My Family and I have been patients of Dr. Toy from the first day she opened in Redwood City. She has seen our kids go from little kids to now adults so I can honestly say that she is a GREAT Dentist for the whole family. She explains everything that she is doing and is honest in what needs to be (or not be) done. I can 100% say Dr. Toy earns the 5 Star rating and our families smiles prove it. :-)

I have a lot of anxiety regarding dental treatment. As a result I neglected quality dental care over the years. Dr. Toy was extremely kind and patient. She and her assistant, Liz immediately put me at ease. I am so happy with the care I received. I would highly recommend Dr. Toy! I would give more stars if I could!!!

Dr. Toy is the best! She not only has great expertise, but she has a comforting presence and we have great conversations. Liz is also so sweet and goes above and beyond. I moved out of town but book appointments whenever I'm back in the area!

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Doreen Toy and her staff. Since I've started coming here, my teeth and gums have gotten into much better shape. Dr. Doreen Toy always patiently answers all of my many questions, and in a way that makes it easy for me to understand. I now look forward to my regular cleanings. Highly recommend!

I was in need of a new dentist since my previous one retired and Dr. Toy was recommended to me by a friend. Dr. Toy & Liz are super friendly and professional. They take the time to explain procedures and ask about things they notice to get a fuller picture of your dental/health history. I love the national park posters and pictures on the ceiling and walls. My first appointment(s) happened during the COVID19 pandemic and I felt safe and comfortable in their office. They followed all the current protocols to make sure patients (as well the Dr. Toy & Liz) are safe during the pandemic. They wear masks, use face shields, only allow one patient at a time in the office, greet you with hand sanitizer at the door, and even a pre-appointment rinse with mouthwash just to be safe. I highly recommend Dr. Toy!

I'm a new patient but I've had to visit several times this summer for a major fix from previous years of my own carelessness. This is the first time I've ever felt comfortable at the dentist. And they go over all your payment and insurance options. And a strategy if you need something fixed. It's a great clinic.

Dr. Toy and her staff have always taken good care of me and my kids. Her office has been set up so professionally and safely to mitigate risk re: COVID-19 protection (air purifiers, staff is dressed and masked). They only let one patient, one person at a time in so to ensure safety measures are met. Highly recommend her services!!
