Dr. Hansen and his staff are beyond amazing!! Our son had to have two teeth removed. During the consult Dr. Hansen listened to my son, answered his questions, and didn't mind that he was rambling on due to being nervous. The day of the procedure my son was scared about getting the IV placed and the nurses were really kind and reassuring. Afterwards as we were being discharged he threw up twice in the parking lot, and the same nurses came to the rescue to assist with getting him cleaned up. They also gave us gloves, paper towels, and a container in case he got sick again on the way home. Dr Hansen also personally called later that day to check in on how he was doing. I missed the call and didn't get to speak to him, but really appreciated the fact that he called personally to check in. Definitely recommend Dr. Hansen and his staff!!

Very disappointed in the office of Donavan R. Hansen, Desert Valley Oral Surgery. I was referred to them on an emergency basis after discovering that I had a cyst growing in an root canal and it was becoming very painful. They told me they took my insurance and even gave me an explanation of coding and what I would need to pay. I even gave them a copy of my insurance benefits /Patient Charge schedule, prior to my procedure. I was under the impression everything was covered at least 70% or more per my benefits. Long story short, while the office used the correct code per the American Dental Association, they did not ensure it matched up with my personal insurance benefits and patient charge schedule. I went through two painful appeals before understanding this. All along Dr. Hansen's office telling me it was the insurance company not paying. When if they had used my Insurance pt. charge schedule, they would have seen that the procedures they were wanting to do were not covered. Nor is the Implant I was suppose to get that once again, they told me I was covered. To top it all off. I still have numbness in the lower area of my jaw where the mandibular nerve was scraped in removing the cyst. It's been 6 months now and I am still numb. The business manager and I came to an financial agreement after, arguing my point and them still denying they not charge according to my personal insurance benefits and patient charge schedule. Such a disappointment! I feel like this office manager and the Provider have little Character and Integrity as they would take no responsibility for this. Only to tell me ( The office Manager) didn't want to be audited because of all the appeals i was putting out. I was also told that they would probably no longer take my Insurance into 2022 as they had such hassles with the insurance paying... No wonder, if they are not charging correctly against the patients dental benefits and patient charge schedule. The insurance has every right not to pay! So I am SOL for my implant as the insurance denied it, as it was never an option on my pt. charge schedule, unlike what I was told at Desert Valley Oral Surgery. I went onto my Cigna portal to leave a review there and they have already removed their names for taking this Insurance. Its horrible that they are doing wrong by their patients/ clients and not accepting responsibility for their actions and error. I give the only 1 star and that is for their receptionist, O., the only bright light out of the whole office. She was empathetic to my situation and held out hope for me. She was friendly and positive! To the rest of the office, it was a very disappointing experience. I do not recommend!

I had a wonderful experience, if you can call a tooth extraction and bone graft "wonderful." I have an extensive medical history and often experience complications, but the procedure went perfectly, and the healing/after care was about as smooth as I've ever had. With new insurance, I had another extraction with another surgeon and have had nothing but pain and problems. I'm going back to Dr. Hansen, even though I will be paying out of pocket. He's worth it.

Completely disregarded the fact when I scheduled surgery for my teen I advised I had to be done by 1 pm. Surgery was scheduled for 11:30. They took him back at 12:15. Seriously rude. No concern for others time.

He is the best! He did my implants and wisdom teeth extraction along with gum grafting at the University of Rochester Medical center. I would highly recommend him to anyone, always so friendly and pleasant to be around. He is definitely a skilled surgeon.

My husband went to see Dr. Hansen for an implant consultation which we were told was free from our dentist (who referred us to him). We were billed for the free consultation and never told the x-rays would also be charged to us. I was sent a bill that was more then the EOB said I should pay which was not the negotiated rate through our insurance. I called to question the bill and the office manager told me that they don't call for eligibility prior to the consultation. Is this because it was supposed to be free? After a few minutes of arguing back and forth it was apparent I wasn't getting anywhere. A week or so later I received a "new" bill with a different amount. At this point although my husband really liked the doctor we are so disappointed in the front office manager that we don't even know what we owe and will be going elsewhere for the implant.

I want to Thank Dr. Hansen and his fabulous Staff for the wonderful care I received yesterday and the time before. The friendly staff made me feel so at ease from the moment I walked through the door. My treatment went fantastic and the personal care call from Dr Hansen in the evening making sure I'm okay was deeply appreciated. I will DEFINITELY (100%) be going back if I'm ever in need for an Oral Surgeon again.

Dr. Hansen is the kind of doc that other doctors send their family members to when an expert is needed in this field. Simply put, he is exceptional! He has skilled hands, a big heart and an amazing bedside manner. I am a colleague whose family member needed a significant reconstruction. Dr. Hansen delivered on so many levels. The outcome was life-changing for this person and I could not be more grateful to him. Whether you need wisdom teeth removed, implants placed, or a more advanced surgery, I do hope you will meet with Dr. Hansen to discuss your unique circumstances. He is well trained and ready to serve your family soon. Highly recommended.

Hands down the least painful dental procedure I've ever had done in my almost 40 years. I've historically always been completely impervious to the affects of local anesthetic. I've felt the intensely awful pain before after being shot up numerous times with numbing meds. In fact, it seems that all of the medications in the Novocain/Benzocaine/Lidocaine family are useless on me. Well, I made my anxieties known to Dr. Hansen and he recommended adding nitrous (laughing gas) prior to the procedure but he seemed otherwise almost too calm for my comfort at the time. He was at least outwardly not one bit concerned I'd be uncomfortable at all, let alone did he seem fazed that I might feel the entire procedure and freak out during his operation. Well, now I know why he was calm! Because he's just THAT great at what he does for a living. The local anesthetic injections took hold this time and I felt absolutely NOTHING when he extracted the abscessed top molar that had been causing me severe agony for the prior 10 days. He must've known he could get the anesthetic working in spite of doctors failing in their job at numbing me during past procedures. The laughing gas also took a huge weight off my shoulders I'd been carrying with me due to this happening for most of the month of December and the holidays were especially emotional as it was before this tooth issue popped up. I definitely consider Dr. Hansen the greatest oral surgeon I have seen in my lifetime and without dental insurance I didn't have the money in the third week of December Christmas shopping to pay a lot more for general anesthesia, so my fear of feeling the pain wasn't one where I had the option to be put to sleep and wanted to be a cheapskate. Without insurance it would've been several hundred more to be put to sleep for the 30 minutes they said it would've taken them. I'm so glad I passed on general anesthesia and it couldn't have gone any better than it did when I was lucky enough to have my regular dentist refer me to Hansen for surgery. Thank you, Dr. Hansen!

Most amazing dental experience I've ever had! Awesome staff. Super comforting & respectful. Dr Hansen called after surgery to check in on me & I had failed to answer the phone so he called again around 8:30pm to ask again. Shows he genuinely cares to see how I was doing. My biggest fear is dental work & they made it SO EASY!

I've had an excellent experience with Dr. Hansen and his staff. They've been kind, respectful, and informative every step of the way. Everyone is friendly, the office is efficient, and they're truly top notch. I had a less-than-easy wisdom tooth extraction surgery because I put it off way too long. Guys, don't do that.. just get them out before they're an issue. So, my recovery was not simple like most cases and they were STILL awesome. Yep, I was a total pain and they were still cool... i hate being "that" person and they never made me feel like it. I highly recommend this office and Dr. Hansen.
