Dr. Palmisano received her B.S. in microbiology from Louisiana State University and her D.D.S. from the LSU School of Dentistry in 1990. In the two years following dental school, she participated in the LSU School of Dentistrys prosthodontic residency program. Ten years later, she taught at the LSU School of Dentistry for five years as a part-time faculty member.
She is a member of the New Orleans Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Dental Association (since 1990) and American Academy of Facial Esthetics. She is specially trained in a wide range of treatments, including chemical peels/ cosmeceuticals, dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, microneedling, 'Botox', Dermal Fillers and Obagi systems
A member of the SPEAR Faculty Club and the Crescent City Study Club, branch of the Seattle City Study Club, Dr. Palmisano participates in many more than the required number of continuing education classes per year in order to stay at the forefront of her field. Additionally, she has participated in local peer review committees in the New Orleans area.
Dr. Palmisano has been an active participant in the Donated Dental Services program since 1994. Donated Dental Services offers free dental services to disabled, medically-compromised, or elderly patients who cannot afford services and are not eligible for public aid. Dr. Palmisano has also actively enjoyed and participated in dental missions to Honduras and Ecuador.
Dr. Palmisano is married to Jerry Schmidt, has three children, two daughter-in-laws and 2 granddaughters, and lives in Metairie. In her spare time, she enjoys cake decorating, jewelry making, traveling, and fishing with her family at their Fort Beauregard camp. She is a member of St. Angela Parish.

Dr. Donna Palmisano is the best! She provides excellent care & goes above & beyond to make sure her patients have the best experience with no pain or discomfort. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs a dentist!

Everyone is super nice and friendly! I went in because my screw on my implant was loose and needed to be tighten. I wasn't sure what to expect, but my Periodontist assured me that I was in the best hands. Dr. Palmisano explained everything to me step by step as she did my procedure. I didn't feel any pain at all. I highly recommend anyone who has implants or dealing with any issues with their implants. Dr. Palmisano is the best!

Dr. Donna and her staff are the best, period! Needing dental work done is not something anyone generally looks forward to but an appointment with Dr Donna is always a good day. My confidence in her is as high as it can go and her staff is the absolute BEST! I love all of them! I told them yesterday, if my teeth could do a happy dance, they would. I doubt there is a dentist anywhere near her who can possibly compete and if they do, she will always be number one! She knows her job and she knows how to treat people. She wins, hands down!

I have never had a bad experience at Dr Donnas. She and her staff are the most friendly dental personal Ive ever encountered. Its actually a pleasure to go and visit with them ...I end up laughing most of my visit :) Very genuine people and Dr Donna is an excellent dentist.

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Palmisano and team. When an issue arose, she took my concerns seriously and coordinated my care with the endodontist and oral surgeon. I am so grateful for her care and expertise. She is absolutely the best!

It's always a pleasure to visit Dr Donna. She and her staff are very friendly and personal. My husband and I travel from the Northshore and make a road trip of it by eating lunch out and going to Trader Joes.

Dr Donna is great. I bring my 5 year old to her and he has a lot of teeth issues. She is great with him! She explains what she's doing and shows him the tools she will use on his teeth, which relaxes him because it takes his fear away! She's excellent and answers any questions I have or any questions my little one has! We will never go anywhere else!
