Practicing orthodontics gives me the chance to make a lasting, positive difference in each patients life. Treatment not only leads to a cosmetic improvement of a patients teeth and appearance but often results in an improvement in the persons self-esteem and confidence.
Beyond that, orthodontic treatment also affects a persons oral and overall health. Properly positioned teeth mean better function and less stress on the jaw joints and face/neck muscles, as well as improved chewing for better digestion. Treatment also means it is easier to brush and floss the teeth, which decreases the likelihood of the patient developing dental or gum disease provided the person practices good dental hygiene, of course.
As an orthodontist, I appreciate the different people I interact with each day. My patients always have something new to tell me: children and teens talk about their classes, extracurricular activities, and weekend plans, and adult patientstalk about their professions and experiences.
That said, I think the best part of being an orthodontist, and therefore the most rewarding, is the day a patient finishes treatment and we take off their braces. The person looks in the mirror and sees all they have accomplished: they have a smile that wont stop and they cant wait to show it to the world!
Before pursuing orthodontics, I practiced general dentistry for five years. That experience gives me an advanced perspective in treatment planning, as I always think about the persons future dental health and what I need to do to ensure their smile remains healthy and strong.
Continuing education (CE) is core to who I am and how I practice orthodontics. I stay up-to-date on the latest techniques so my patients achieve the best clinical result and have a comfortable and efficient treatment experience.
These organizations offer a range of CE opportunities, from lectures and seminars to regular meetings. Through them I am able to learn from leading orthodontic and dental practitioners and researchers.
Originally from Erie, PA, my family and I now live in Lutz, FL. My wife Miriam and I have two children: son Brian and daughter Rachel. We also have three dogs, all rescues or strays, who are part of our family.
Our family is very involved with different charities, always with a focus on helping to strengthen and better our community. We support the Humane Society and our children have helped out with non-profit community health clinics. We have also participated in Alzheimers fundraisers, YMCA events for children, and a range of fundraisers for projects and organizations in Hernando and Citrus counties.

Furious. My time was completely wasted by this new and partially incompetent staff. Had an estimate and full treatment plan given to me by Dr. Wexler, of course those records weren't kept so I had to make an appt for another consultation.... I drove 25 minutes to be told yes she's ready for braces. No kidding, really!? That's why I'm here... So I'm told I need to make another appt for records so I can be given the treatment plan and cost. That is what this appointment should have been but the girl who needs some serious training on the importance of listening didn't get that. I refused to make that appointment on pure principle. As I'm leaving I'm told to have a better day...lol I'd have a better day if didn't have my time wasted by incompetence. ***Thank you for proving my point with your response, and that point being that you people don't listen. I communicated very clearly my daughter was ready for braces. We knew this because we had already had a consultation with Dr Wexler who as far as I know has/had a great reputation. Because THOSE RECORDS weren't kept I had to make one with you. Because I told the girl I was ready to get moving with treatment and again, already had conformation she's ready, that appointment should have been for records. If she had asked for insurance information over the phone she would have gotten it. Once I was told over the phone of out of pocket costs, I would have been able to make the choice to move forward with you guys. However, knowing that some orthodontists do those at no charge I can't say if I would or if I would not have and that's irrelevant. So, after my time was wasted by your office staffs Incompetence I was not interested in giving you that information and going forward as I was already irritated. As I said, I did not make any future appointments out of pure principle. My time is valuable. My money is valuable and I do not appreciate it being wasted. So instead of making lame excuses and sad attempts at shifting the blame, coach whoever took my appointment. The end. You guys screwed up and my frustration is 100 justified.

What a difference.... Our experience since the transition have been mostly positive. My husband and I can tell Dr. Strouse cares for our children's care and wants to do the very best available. He's brought in much needed technology - we're so glad our youngest won't have to get those goopy molds, it's all digital now! They are even finally updating the office! They said they got a new software so a payment didn't go thru which was kind of annoying but they were able to get it fixed. I would definitely recommend Dr. Strouse and his staff who, by the way, are super friendly. Our two kids in braces love them and their teeth are looking good so far.

Ever since dr. Wexler retired this place is not the same. If I could give the entire staff a minus I would!!! Horrible service !! Dr. Wexler was the reason I came to this place.

I like most people hate going to the Orthodontist and was really skeptical to come back here, but I am really happy I gave the new Doctor shot! I was extremely impressed with him and he just didn't feel like that typical Dentist/Orthodontist. First time meeting him he took the time to hear me out and I never felt rushed even with patients waiting for him - my fault if you had to wait longer that day. Also having had to wait long in the past, I feel they did a really nice job redoing the office with the new paint and pictures, it just feels more inviting. Last thing you want when you're already not thrilled about going to the doctor, is to be waiting in a dull and drab office. Special thanks to Kim at the front desk she's definitely the best!

Dr. Strouse is the best, he takes his time to answer all my questions (which happen to be so many) The staff is very accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend that you send all your family and friends there. I had a great experience. I also loved how I didn't have to get those separators.

New ownership since Wexler has retired and many patients in the community have seen this business go downhill quickly. Braces and wires need adjustments at some point, more so now with the frequent staff turnovers who seem to still be in a training stage. Only to get an adjustment or fix for these "emergency" appts you have to call right when they open Monday morning, wait 4 hours for a call back only to be told they cannot help you because they are so understaffed and have exactly one hygienist on. You can travel 45 min away the next day if you would like to get service. Or wait another day (which now has totaled 5 days since the braces issue.) So if you want to pay $4600 to watch your kid in pain because they are so understaffed and then if you try to switch you will be told we don't do refunds. I actually asked for my contract to be prorated for the services rendered. You won't see a penny from your contract, even though it says it directly about refunds if you decide to transfer to another orthodontist. I can't even imagine if someone had to move...but alas there was no answer for that either. Sounds pretty shady to me.

Dr. Strouse is knowledgeable and answered all my questions. He also eased my son's concerns. The staff is excellent, friendly and efficient. The office is getting a much needed update and looks nicer now.

Now new ownership under staffed, patients are waiting to be seen past their appointment time. Fees have gone up and your responsible for filing your own insurance benefit.

By far the friendliest staff I have ever dealt with. Heather is super sweet, Wendy at the desk is always friendly and Dr. Wexler is so professional! I actually moved out of state, but I am flying in monthly to continue my treatment with them.
