Dr. Donald Cabana has a vision and a passion for providing extraordinary care and service for his patients. He strives to provide the best information available to help patients be well informed of what modern dentistry has to offer.
He grew up in Boonton, New Jersey being one of six born to Dr. Richard Cabana a local dentist to the area. Dr. Donald Cabana grew up around the dental field for all his life and then attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry Of New Jersey after college where he met his wife Dr. Karin Cabana. He then joined his father and 2 brothers working in the family dental office.
Dr. Donald Cabana realized the importance of being involved with and volunteering in his community. His dedication to community is in a league with the care and service provided by his practice to his patients.
He currently resides in Fort Mill, South Carolina with his wife, Karin, and their three girls, Kailyn, Amelia and Olivia. Whenever Dr. Donald Cabana has spare time he enjoys spending it with his family. He also is a member at a local church and volunteers his time there. He enjoys all sports including hiking, yoga and soccer.
Dr. Donald Cabana has taken over 2,000 hours of continuing dental education to best serve the interests and needs of his patients. He continues to sharpen his skills to be able to give his patients the highest level of care available.
Dr. L was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. He is the embodiment of the American Melting Pot. His father immigrated from Mussolinis Italy and became an attorney, courtesy of the G.I. Bill. He instilled in his son family values, respect for the law, and love of our country. His mother was Pennsylvania Dutch and a Daughter of the American Revolution, who worked as a Riveter Rosie in a munitions factory during WW2. She imparted to her son her love of art and history and service to ones fellow man.
Dr. L attended the University of Pittsburgh, graduating with a degree in Biology, then graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1978. He attended countless continuing education seminars over the years including the 5-year program of the United States Dental Institute with emphasis on Orthodontics and TMJ Rehabilitation. In 1979, he established a successful dental practice in Pittsburgh, operating it for 25 years before tiring of the long winters.
In 2005, he and his family relocated to the warm and welcoming climes of Fort Mill and built their dream home. He worked as an associate in Fort Mill for several years before purchasing a group practice and building in Columbia, SC., with 12 chairs, 3 dentists, a periodontist, 4 hygienists, and a cast of thousands. He commuted every week from Fort Mill, but burnout and an unwillingness to relocate to Columbia caused him to sell this practice in 2015.
Since then he has worked as a locum tenens (as-needed) dentist at numerous offices from Fort Mill to Columbia. He has enjoyed the shorter hours and the many wonderful patients, doctors and employees he has had the pleasure to meet. And he has seen many successful and well-run offices. Which is what brings him to Stonecrest Family Dentistry and Dr. Cabana and his staff.
Since joining the practice in June of 2020, Dr. L noticed immediately that Dr. Cabana shared a commitment to excellent patient care delivered in a stress-free environment. An emphasis is placed on Covid protective measures for both patients and staff. Above all, Dr. Cabana shares Dr. Ls mission to treat patients the same way they would treat their families.
Dr. Ls family includes his wife of 40 years, Denise, who graduated from the Duquesne University School of Pharmacy. Their daughter Diana, a graduate of USC, is an art teacher in Columbia. Oldest son Marc is a graduate of Virginia Tech in chemical engineering with a masters degree in management from Duke. He has worked for Dupont and presently works as a patent reviewer for the U. S. Office of Patents and Trademarks. Youngest son, Christopher, graduated from Fort Mill High School and USC with a degree in Biology and a masters degree in Health Administration, specializing in finance. He lives in Columbia with his wife Laura, a physical therapist, and their son, wildman Lucas, the light of Dr. Ls eye.
