Dr. Dominick (aka) Don Pisciotta has been providing exceptional dental care in Franconia, Alexandria and the surrounding areas for over 25 years! He earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry.
Dr. Pisciotta feels it is important to stay on the cutting-edge of dentistry. Thus, he maintains memberships in many prestigious professional organizations such as the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association and the Northern Virginia Dental Society to keep up-to-date on the latest techniques and technology.
Dr. Pisciotta is a life-long resident of the Springfield community. He has been married to his high school sweetheart for over 31 years and has two children who live locally. Dr. Pisciotta is an avid sports fan, cheering for the Capitols, Nationals and especially the Redskins.
Permanent teeth will begin to grow around age 6, and except for wisdom teeth, are all present between ages 12 and 14. The next teeth to grow in are the 12-year molars and finally the wisdom teeth. Wisdom teeth typically begin breaking through from age 17 and on. The total number of permanent teeth is 32, though few people have room for all 32 teeth. This is why wisdom teeth are usually removed.
Your front teeth are called incisors. The sharp fang-like teeth are canines. The next side teeth are referred to as pre-molars or bicuspids, and the back teeth are molars. Your permanent teeth are the ones you keep for life, so it is vital that they are brushed and flossed regularly and that periodic check-ups by a dentist are followed.

I am always pleased with the attention I receive from Dr Pisciotta and his staff. They are not only very professional and knowledgeable but very kind. My granddaughters, 16 and 9, have also been very comfortable with their services as well.

Dr. Pisciotta has been our family dentist for about 10 years (to include my sisters family etc). We have always enjoyed having him as a dentist and his team is always courteous and friendly. My son got his first cleaning yesterday (4yo) and Nidia was amazing with him! We will continue to go here for years to come and my kids will likely go here as they grow! I had seen two other orthodontist to price Invisalign's when a woman in my PT class recommended Dr. Pisciotta. When he told me he could correct my teeth to my satisfaction in 4 months (or money back) and match the other price I had been quoted, I was all in. In 4 months I was done! Other orthodontists had said 12 to 18 months. He's now my new dentist for the last 3 years. On my last visit I complained of pain in my mouth to the hygienist (Nidia). When she couldn't see anything causing the pain she got a wand with a camera on the end and took pictures which revealed something under the tori in my bottom jaw. Dr. Pisciotta didn't want to take any chances so referred me to a specialist. I'm so grateful for their thoroughness. After a course of antibiotics, a sliver of a popcorn hull was removed from under the tori! Who would have thought that such a small object could cause such pain and inflammation!

I have been going to Dr. Pisciotta's office for years! The hygienist, office ladies and of course Dr. Pisciotta always take good care of me while I'm there. Whether it's for a cleaning or for a dental procedure, I have found that they are efficient, thorough and most kind. They are the best!

Great people here. Real concern about their patients. Dr. P goes the extra mile every time. Willing to take the time to explain until you understand, and listens to you as the patient. Even accommodated an emergency exam within the hour. Even after moving I gladly drive the 25 min to see them.
