I feel fortunate to practice dentistry. Meeting new people never gets old, and seeing their oral health improve is personally and professionally fulfilling, as I know Ive made a difference in that persons life.
For me, the most exciting part of dentistry is helping each person achieve the smile they want, while improving their oral health, and their overall body wellness at the same time. Its an honor to provide a service that heals the entire person.

Dr. Lu was awarded his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the University of Toronto, in Canada. Following graduation, he immediately began to seekout continuing education (CE) opportunities. Committed to providing his patients with the widest range of comfortable, effective dental care and wanting to offer them access to the latest proven technologies, Dr. Lu takes CE courses throughout the year.
Hes studied extensively on topics related to implant dentistry, Invisalign, cosmetic dentistry and developing oral appliances for patients who snore or suffersleep apnea and cannot tolerate a CPAP machine.
Dr. Lu has trained at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute (LVI), specializing in cosmetic dentistry, and at the Denmat facilities where helearned about Lumineers veneers. His implant training occurred at the renowned Engel Institute for Dental Implants.
Dr. Lu grew up in Ottawa, Ontario, the capital city of Canada. After completing his dental degree, he practiced dentistry in Ottawa for eight yearsbefore deciding he was tired of shoveling truckloads of snow. He moved to Southern California in 2011 and now enjoys snow-free winters.

Dr. Lu provides fantastic service for his clients. He has great and helpful staff who provide a warm and welcoming environment. I saw Dr. Lu for sleep apnea device that has served me well now for over three years. I could not recommend Healthy Smiles Dental Center more!

I'm really liking this little dental office. Close to my home. I got a great little replacement crown last visit and a great cleaning this visit. The staff is friendly and professional and they even have a menu for comfort items like blanket, lip balm, headphones, etc.My new favorite place for my dental care.

Dr. Lu and his staff are professional and friendly. They are gentle on your teeth too! I always enjoy my visits and Dr. Lu takes time to get to know me. I have had other dentists not believe me when I report pain or sensitivity, but Dr. Lu always takes me seriously and works to resolve the issue. The office is efficient and I'm never waiting long to get in. I would recommend Dr. Lu to anyone!

I have seen Dr Liu for two years and then had to pause for a year because of Dif insurance. Tons of upselling, no leniency, not a great job on my veneers that I had done here (feels loose and not completely natural looking, but nothing I can do about that). Recently came back after my insurance switched again and got charged a cancellation appointment, after I missed only one previous appointment. The main reason I like them is that they are on time in comparison to other dentists I have been too. Usually they send a text to remind you, but I haven't received one. If you can find a provider that shows up on time I would recommend going there. Dr Liu is kind, but unfortunately it's strictly a little too much focus on the business aspect and not on the customer experience. After returning to them a year later because my new insurance accepted them and him charging me a cancellation fee for simply me forgetting, I will not be returning. What a horrible way to experience coming back to a provider. Would make sense if this was a common thing I did.

Dr. Lu is so kind and has a gentle touch. I've been seeing Dr. Lu since 2012 and now I travel over 30 miles to receive services from him and his staff. Everyone is professional, kind, and understanding. I fall asleep in his chair while he's doing procedures- the Novocain helps too, but I honestly walk away happy and encouraged to take better care of my teeth.

I just started going to Healthy Smiles and the staff have ALL been very friendly, professional and helpful. Dr. Lu does an amazing job answering all questions and concerns. I had two wisdom teeth extractions and cavity fills and it all went smoothly! Highly suggest making an appointment here!

One of the BEST recommendations I've ever received! The best dentist, office staff and hygienist I have ever met in Orange County! Dr Lu is meticulous, and has excellent communication skills. He is a kind, experienced and reasonable man. He really takes the time to know his patients, very accommodating and his office staffs is very nice and helpful whenever I schedule appointments or having billing questions. Dr. Lu and all of his staff are all very friendly and make an effort to actually get to know their patients. It makes me actually kind of look forward to going to the dentist. I appreciate that I can watch a movie to distract me while they work on my teeth and that they make sure to regularly ask if I'm doing okay throughout the dental work. They are also great about letting you know the cost of everything in advance and quotes for any future dental work. Highly recommend them.

I called a couple of dental offices for an appointment as a new patient and Dr. Lu's office responded promptly. I chose Dr.Lu's office based on their Yelp reviews and decided to give them a shot and am very glad I did! I've been in a few times for some necessary dental work and Dr.Lu and his staff are very professional and friendly. Dr. Lu & his team changed my life by changing my smile! I came to his office on a referral for lumineers and am so grateful I did! I wanted straighter, whiter, and more even teeth. He really took the time to walk me through the entire process to see if I was good candidate. He was honest and not pushy at all. He is so talented and precise. You can tell they really care about their patients there & want to make everyone feel comfortable. I had 4 visits with Dr. Lu and he gave me the smile of my dreams. On a side note, they play the BEST MUSIC there and the best old school movies while you're getting work done. It's such a great way to get the edge off! Dr. Lu is now my go to dentist!
