Dr. Derek Grieco is a 1992 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He completed his undergraduate studies at Geneva College, Beaver Falls, PA. Upon graduation from the University of Pittsburgh, he completed a year long residency program at Allegheny General Hospital located in Pittsburgh, PA. In 1993, Dr. Grieco transitioned in to an existing private practice in Murrysville, PA where he has been fortunate enough to serve the community for the past 26 years. He has specialized in general dentistry for many years, but in the last decade and a half, Dr. Grieco has been moving in a more biologic/holistic direction.
Dr. Grieco believes that good health begins in the mouth and treating illness begins with an assessment of oral health. Consequently, Dr. Grieco has spent countless hours of studying and research to create a more biological and holistic practice. In the late 1990s, a good friend encouraged Dr. Grieco to begin investigating biological dentistry and safe mercury removal procedures. He credits Dr. Hal Huggins and Dr. Blanche Grube as his mentors in the field of biological dentistry. He has received extensive training by Dr. Hal Huggins and Dr. Blanche Grube in the Huggins/Grube safe mercury removal protocol and related modalities. He is a member of the IABDM and the IAOMT. Dr.Grieco is also SMART certified by the IAOMT. He is also a member of the Weston Price Foundation and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). Biological dentistry has become Dr. Griecos passion. He becomes fully invested in the health and wellbeing of his patients and loves to assist each of them in achieving their wellness goals through biologic dentistry.
Dr. Grieco has been married for 25 years and has 4 adult children. His interests include spending time and traveling with his family, exercise and physical fitness, and organic cooking. He is a member of Donated Dental Services where he donates dental services to help the underprivileged. He sponsors Athletes in Action, Commission to Every Nation and sponsors two children through Compassion International. He believes strongly in biblical principles and his favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
