Dr. Denise is a life-long Five Towns resident. She grew up in North Woodmere and attended yeshiva through high school where she graduated with honors. She then attended Binghamton University where she graduated cum laude.
After college, Dr. Denise attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) where she was the Vice President of the American Association of Women Dentists. While at UMDNJ, she developed her passion for pediatric dentistry. After graduating with honors, Dr. Denise began her post-graduate training at the highly competitive Pediatric Dentistry residency at the Children's Hospital of Long Island Jewish Medical Center. It was there that she honed her skills as a pediatric dentist, treating both children who are well and those with special needs.
Since completing her residency, Dr. Denise has furthered her training by becoming a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. Achieving this honor means that Dr. Denise has the highest accreditation available in pediatric dentistry.
Dr. Denise remains active in dental education as an attending dentist at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center. In this role, she imparts her knowledge and provides mentorship to the next generation of pediatric dentists.

Dr. Cohen is the best dentist that we could ask for for our children. We found Dr. Cohen when our son, who was in pre-k at the time, was told he lacked enamel on some of his teeth, and would need to be put under anesthesia to fill several cavities and cap a couple of his teeth. As parents of a 4 year old who had been bringing our son to the dentist since he was 2, we were shocked and upset by this news. I posted on a local Mom page on Facebook with my concerns and Dr. Cohen herself reached out to me and agreed to meet with us and discuss an approach for our son. We did and she advised we could do the work in his mouth to a less extensive degree and while he was awake. My son is now 8 and Dr. Cohen has been there for us on every step of his dental journey since then. His adult teeth are growing in wonderfully and she answers every question and concern we have. I would recommend her and her kind nature and superior services to anyone.

My kids love going to Dr. Denise! She is an excellent pediatric dentist. She is friendly, gentle, and thorough. The entire staff is knowledgeable and honest. We had a great experience. So happy we found Dr. Denise!

Dr.Cohen has been wonderful with my daughters. We met her for a second opinion on a procedure that was recommended for my older one, she quickly reassured us saying it may not be necessary and definitely not necessary now as it may self correct in a few years. We absolutely appreciated the honesty and saving our daughter unnecessary anxiety. We then switched to her for our routine care and couldn't be happier. No 6week waits for appointments, lovely and responsive staff, clean office, and an amazing bedside manner which is so important when dealing with children!

I decided to take my daughter to Dr. Cohen for some dental work. When I tell you the staff is so welcoming and nice . The whole setup/decor of the place is kid friendly & AMAZING ! Bright colors all over! Each dental room has it own color and personality. Dr. Cohen herself is very professional and very kind. The following day after my daughters visit, Dr. Cohen herself called to check up and see how my daughter was adjusting . I recommend all parents to check this place out .

Where do I begin? We were blessed to be referred to Dr. Cohen's pediatric dental office for our 2 year old who was experiencing tooth decay from night nursing/feeds. The staff is very helpful and got us an appointment/consultation right away. Dr. Cohen was extremely friendly and personable. She outlined what our options were and explained how comfortable and painless it would be for our daughter as she would need sedation for the work that was required. As new parents of course we were concerned however, Denise & the Dr. Pfeffer (Anesthesiologist Team) were incredible. Our daughter was able to have her smile reinforced to match her sweet heart! We personally received a call from Dr. Cohen post-procedure to check on our sweet girl! Such an amazing experience & here's a glimpse of the work! Thank you Dr. Cohen & Staff!

Dr. Cohen's office is fun and inviting...andthat's just from stepping in the door. Once your child is brought into his or her treatment room, the experience only gets better from there. Dr. Cohen is calming and professional, and excels at keeping the experience positive for the child without sacrificing her level of care. She does what's best for your child, even if it means the procedure will take longer or is more difficult for her. The kids are distracted with ceiling mounted TVs, brightly colored decor, fruit flavors and scents, prizes and the friendliest and kindest staff. 5 stars may not be enough...

We would like to thank Dr. Denise Cohen and her incredible staff for making our sons visit a great one as every visit has been made. Once you are through the door the smiles are there to greet you as well as the professionalism and kindness of her staff. They treat the children with great respect and speak to them beautifully. Our son loves the chairs that recline back so he can watch his favorite show while being looked at. The environment is very relaxing and everyone there is fantastic.
