Dr. Schafer has resided in Wayland since 1999. She has been an active supporter of local sports and community events in addition to raising her son in Wayland. Dr. Schafer grew up in SouthWestern New York and then attended Colgate University graduating Magana Cum Laude while majoring in Biology. She was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society based on her academic record. Dr. Schafer then attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio graduating as a top student which facilitated her acceptance into the prestigious University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Orthodontic Residency. After obtaining her specialty training, Dr. Schafer returned to her roots in New York working as an orthodontist caring for both children and adults.
At Dr. Schafer Orthodontics we work hard to make you feel right at home. We put your needs first all the while achieving efficient and comprehensive treatment. Our staff is well trained and highly skilled. We strive to provide superlative service to each patient at every visit with us.
When I began working for Dr. Schafer in 2000, I was a clinical orthodontic assistant. I currently am the financial and scheduling coordinator. I strive each day to make your visit to our office as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. My goal is to have each patient and parent leave happy and pleased with our staff.
In my free time, I try to spend as much time as possible with my daughter, Carson. She recently obtained her Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy at Ithaca College and has begun her full time career. As a family, we enjoy traveling and trying new cuisines. Ialso love spending time with my two Goldendoodles, Piper and Bentley. Ilook forward to the times I can walk for fitness, ski, work in my yardor relax with a good book.
My name is Sandra and I have been an orthodontic assistant for almost 10years. In my free time, I love spending time with my husband and our 4children. We all enjoy camping, spending time with friends and taking asmany adventures as possible.
Upon arriving at our office, you will find one of these gorgeous golden doodles waiting to greet you with a wagging tail. Piper and Bentley bring love, calmness, entertainment, and positive energy to the office each day! They enjoy being rewarded for their good behavior from their treat jar.

These ladies are AMAZING! My 9-year-old son is even more handsome because of them. They make you feel comfortable, and they are always pleasant and professional. I would recommend them to anyone.

I was both happy and sad that my youngest is now done with braces. Happy because he was left with a beautiful smile, and sad because we are now done with all of these wonderful ladies. Every visit brought smiles and encouragement, not only with braces, but life in general. I cannot recommend this place enough

Dr. Schafer and her staff are the absolute best! Our sons experience throughout the entire time that he had his braces on was exceptional! Even throughout the pandemic Dr Schafer was there for him! We appreciated the flexible schedule and loved that our son could walk from school to his appointments! Dr. Schafer and her staff are always kind and professional! We would highly recommend this orthodontics office! Thank you for an awesome experience!

We love Dr. Schafer's Orthodontics!! Dr. Schafer, Katie and Sandra are always welcoming and very friendly. Both my children and I have had braces/aligners, I would recommend this office to everyone! Whenever a broken bracket or wire happened (usually my son, lol) they were able to get us right in. We drive about an hour to get there and I would choose them again. Thank you Dr. Schafer and staff for our beautiful smiles!!!

I received many, many more positive recommendations by word of mouth for Dr. Schafer than what is indicated here. The strong approval of my children's pediatric dentist in Rochester may have held the most weight. Dr. Schafer is a great orthodontist, and my daughter (the patient) really likes her.

Dr. Schafer has been so wonderful to our family. She and the whole staff at her office (Hi Katie! :) Are so comfortable and caring, but also take their work seriously. We always know that when we leave the office, we will be smiling (some of us with straighter teeth!). Many of our friends recommended Dr. Schafer, and I would recommend her as well. We interviewed several orthodontists before deciding, and Dr. Schafer was who my son and I felt most comfortable with. We have now brought 3 of our children to her for teeth fixin' and couldn't be more satisfied with her patience, her work ethic, and her prices. She is fair and honest. You will be glad you chose her too!
