Dr. David W. McSurdy graduated from Perkiomen Valley High School and then went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree from Lafayette College. He completed his dental training at Temple University School of Dentistry and continued on for his specialized training in orthodontics at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

The art and science of orthodontics has fascinated Dr. McSurdy throughout his 30+ year career. He is a pioneer of progressive orthodontic techniques as well as an innovative thinker. He holds a US patent (US Patent No. 7,192,273 B2) for inventing Press-on Incremental Expanders which are available exclusively for Smile Specialists patients. He has helped over 500 patients who needed palatal expansion since 2003.

Dr. McSurdy is an active member of The American Dental Association, The American Association of Orthodontists, and The American Academy of Facial Esthetics as well as an Elite Provider of Invisalign. Locally, he also supports both the Collegeville Rotary Club and the Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce. He and his family continue to make Collegeville their home. He considers himself very fortunate to be practicing orthodontics in his hometown, and he enjoys the opportunity to serve the community. During the course of his career, Dr. McSurdy has provided over 16,000 beautiful smiles and healthy dentitions! Dr. Peter Sulaiman was born and raised right here in Collegeville back when route 29 was just a sleepy little road. Hes a very proud graduate of Grove City College where he played Varsity soccer and completed a bachelors degree in Molecular Biology. There, he met his wife Evelyn. In the fall of 2021, Dr.Sulaiman and his wife became new parents to Adeline, a beautiful healthy baby girl! He finished his doctorate at the University of Pittsburgh and subsequently completed his Orthodontic residency training there as well. In addition to his training, Dr. Sulaiman attained a masters degree focused on the beneficial effects expanders have on sleep quality in children. He continues to utilize this knowledge as he treats his patients.

From a young age, Dr. Sulaiman was taught that if hes not going to be the best at something, dont do it! He lives by the mantra that every task should be done to the best of his ability. It doesnt matter whether hes cleaning dishes, cutting the lawn, or straightening teeth. He strives to do every task, big or small, with the same level of commitment. He is beyond excited to practice as an orthodontist in his hometown community and to treat you all as part of his family.

Tiffany has been an important member of Dr. McSurdys office since 1997- as a chairside assistant for 17 years and now as a new patient coordinator. The aspect she loves most about her job is watching kids grow into their beautiful new smiles and how it changes their self esteem. There is nothing more rewarding than watching patients walk out of the office with great big smiles! Tiffany resides in the Boyertown area and enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children. She especially loves watching her kids participate in all of their activities.

Mary is one of the Treatment Coordinators for Dr. McSurdys office. She truly loves her job, the most rewarding thing is sharing in the before and after transformation of all the patients. It is awesome to share in the excitement of each patient.She has been a team member since November 1999. Her greatest joy is spending time with herfamily, especially her grandchildren! Mary loves the beach, bike riding and collecting sea shells.

Ashley joined theDr. McSurdys office in 2014, and she is one of our smiling members of the front desk! As our Financial Coordinator she will work on your behalf to make sure your benefits are maximized. She loves greeting patients and is excited to be a part of the process of creating beautiful smiles! Ashley and her husband Lucas enjoy spending time with their 5 children (4 girls and 1 boy). They love going to the beach, watching movies, anything Disney and walking their 2 Shih Tzu puppies. Ashleyand her family like to keep busy, but in her spare time Ashley likes to go shopping, do home decorating or curl up with a good book.

Emma joined our office in November 2021 with 10 years of experience in the dental field. She loves the orthodontic world and being able to see the pure joy in patients with their newly transformed smiles! She feels lucky every day to be a part of such a hardworking and caring team! Although her baby takes up most of her spare time, she also loves cooking and spending time with her family. She lives locally with her boyfriend and two children.

Midori joined Dr.McSurdys office in August. She enjoys helping both patients and parents with their scheduling needs and watching the smile transformation take place. Midori loves seeing patients leave with a great big smile on their faces when their treatment is finished. In her free time, she loves spending time with her friends and family, especially her son Lorenzo. She also has a love for all things Disney and is a licensed cosmetologist. As a former patient of Dr.McSurdys, she is thrilled to be a part of the team.

Valerie joined Dr.McSurdys office in 2016 and we love her enthusiasm and energy she brings to the clinical team! Valerie is a former patient of Dr.McSurdy so she loves seeing patients progression throughout their entire treatment and understands what its like to be in the chair too! Valerie loves to travel during her free time. Valerie also loves to cook, workout, and spend time with her husband and her dog Nova!

Jackie has been an essential member of theDr. McSurdys office since 2001. In addition to chairside assisting she coordinates the onlineaspects of the practice including managing and updating our website and social media pages. She loves to watch patients progress throughout their treatment and feels it is rewarding to be a part of such a fun team! In her spare time, Jackie enjoys spending time with her husband Jon and their three boys. She loves to travel, read, and going to the beach.

Donna has loved being in orthodontics as a chair side assistant for 33 years, and we are thrilled that she is a member of our team! She especially enjoys taking care of new patients, helping them through the process of getting braces, and then watching the amazing path from beginning of treatment to the final result. She adores spending time with her 2 daughters. Her oldest was recently married and her youngest will be graduating high school this year. Donna is also an animal lover she has 2 dogs and a cat! Her hobbies include spending time outdoors going camping, hiking and kayaking.

Katie has been with the team since 2016 but comes to us with ten years in the dental field. She enjoys the aspects of orthodontics and feels that it is rewarding watching the patients transform. Katie resides in Douglassville with her husband Steve and three grown children. In her spare time she enjoys camping, hiking, walking her dog Jazzy and spending time with friends and family.

Megan joined Dr. McSurdys office in June 2017 and has come with 20 years of orthodontic experience. She enjoys working with the patients and helping them discover their brand new smile. She lives in Quakertown with her husband, son, and their two dogs. Megan enjoys scary movies, spending time with family and friends, and watching her son play sports, especially football! Megans family loves football, especially the New York Giants!

Meghan joined Dr.McSurdys office in 2021 and has over two years of orthodontic experience. We are so happy that she has joined our team. Megs greatest reward is meeting new patients and watching their smile transform from start to finish. In her spare time, Meghan loves spending time with her loved ones and going to her familys cabin in the woods. While there, she enjoys hunting and exploring nature.

Cathy has been a caring and supportive member of Dr. McSurdys office as the sterilization technician since 2001. She loves our great team spirit and especially enjoys being a part of helping patients meet their goals. She lives locally with her husband, her two dogs Shiloh and Max, and her cat Jasper. She has two grown daughters and a son who plays in Penn States prestigious Blue Band! Cathy also enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, as well as reading, scrapbooking, and long bike rides on the local trails.

Ally joined Dr.McSurdys office in 2022 and she is one of our wonderful chairside assistants. Ally feels that she is so blessed to be a part of such a great hard working team. She also enjoys working with the patients, helping them create their new smile from start to finish. Her favorite part of chair siding is when a patients braces come off! Everyone is so happy, it is such a rewarding experience. In her spare time, her greatest joys are spending time with her family, boyfriend, and friends. She also loves traveling to different places, going to different restaurants, and doing pilates.
