David A. Gelb, DDS completed his DDS and Certificate in Periodontics at Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in New York and his implant surgical training at the University of Toronto. He is a Diplomat of the American Academy of Periodontology, a Fellow Academy of Osseointegration, and a Fellow American and International college of Dentists. He is on staff at Hartford Hospital and has provided implant services in West Hartford for over twenty-five years.
Dr. Gelb has achieved global recognition as a leader in Implant dentistry having pioneered surgical procedures for finite esthetics in implant dentistry, immediate implant placement, and bone regeneration. He lectures nationally and internationally at major implant meetings and publishes extensively in journals worldwide on implant denistry. He developed the 'Gelb Radiographic Depth Guage,' a diagnostic surgical guide to heighten precise and optimum implant placement, and designed 'The Implant Tracker,' a comprehensive software program to manage the Implant practice.
Dr. Gelb continues to move forward with innovative implant surgical procedures including the unsurpassed 'Teeth-In-One-Hour' and immediate loading. Dr. Gelb maintains a private practice limited to Periodontics and Implant Surgery in his state-of-the-art facility in West Hartford, Connecticut, where he and his dedicated staff serve patients from all over the world.
Dr. Gelb and his wife live in West Hartford. Dr. Gelb's wifeSusanne Gelb, DDS is a Cosmetic Dentist in Hartford. They enjoy spending time with their four children and grandchildren.They are active in the community and are dedicated to their family, friends, neighbors and especially their patients.

After going through multiple procedures to save my teeth including major gum surgery, this man ruined my mouth forever. He is also an angry man who blames everyone but himself for HIS failures.

HORRIBLE OUTCOME !!! Permanent nerve damage (2 years thus far). I have numbness and pain in the lower quadrant of my jaw. It took almost 2 years to get new implants -- after bone grafts -- and these implants are very shallow and the crowns are small. Another doctor worked hard to fix the mess. I cannot begin to explain the pain I suffered for the first 2 weeks after the initial implant. I had too many procedures to count to try to fix the problem. My quality of life was horrible for almost 2 years. If you have a small jaw, go to an oral surgeon and make sure they don't put in an implant this is too long/deep.

Dr. Gelb placed three implants that were critical to my daily functioning, and did so while I remained on my blood thinner. I could not give any doctor a higher professional score. Dr. Gelb performed periodontal surgery on me years ago. He performed what he called a "flap", in an effort to save my teeth and decrease the risk of further gum disease. It worked!! He was so concerned that he called, after hours, to check on me. I'm considering dental implants and looked him up. I'm so glad he's still in business. I live in Georgia now but would gladly travel to Connecticut so that Dr. Gelb can perform the procedure.

He is admired and highly respected by his large group of referring dentists. As a group we count on his skills in the immediate placement and temporization of the "problem" tooth or teeth. His results within the "esthetic zone" - the front teeth are definitely some of the best surgical results available anywhere. What is most amazing is that I have never heard a single patient complain of post operative discomfort. Another factor that is critical is that he and his team are extremely empathetic and therefore very cost effective. As a dentist if I were to need an implant I would never contemplate going anywhere else.
