Dr. Shermulis and his staff are great. I was extremely nervous about getting my wisdom teeth removed and they comforted me every step of the way. 100% recommend. UPDATED: I felt that it would be important to do an update review about my experience with Dr. Shermulis. Dr. Shermulis is very nice and obviously knows what he is doing. The receptionist up front is absolutely amazing. So kind and very professional, but I feel like I could have had a better experience with my wisdom teeth removal. To start, I was told by the dentist that it would cost about $600 ($300 each) for both of my wisdom teeth removed without insurance which isn't too bad (I was charged $250 each for my right side. I have insurance now so I figured I would just be paying $150 MAX out of my pocket. I received the bill and my insurance was charged $840 ($420 for each tooth) even though he told me my top tooth was very easy to remove. I paid $208 out of my pocket. Im not sure as to why I was charged that much so I did my research and called a few of the dentists in town. The best rated dentist told me that without insurance they charge $250 starting and $320 MAX. So, I got over charged by $100 for each tooth. The next thing is my recovery. It's been about 3 weeks since I've had my teeth removed and I still fill pain often when I eat around it. That may be a normal thing after wisdom teeth removal but I still felt that I should be seen by another dentist to get a second opinion after my cousin (dentist school student) told me that the area looked like it wasn't stitched as well as the right side of my teeth (wisdom teeth removed by a different dentist). My cousin was right and it definitely healed differently. I can even feel the difference. When I touch the back of my mouth with my tongue not only do I feel discomfort but I feel like skin is just dangling. While I was getting the teeth removed another tooth in the back was chipped and is now sharp. Dr. shaved it down a bit when I told him the same day, but not enough. Although he was professional I believe that a doctor should be able to connect with his patients. When I went in to get my stitches removed he checked them quickly then let his assistance remove my stitches. I was in so much pain while she was removing the stitches and even started bleeding again. I could hear him with another person in the back laughing and having a conversation. I'm not sure as to why he couldn't remove the stitches himself when my appointment was with HIM not his assistant. I left the office in pain and told my self I wasn't going back. Overall, if you're looking to get something done fast this is a great place, but if you're looking for a place that you want to be comfortable in and go to long term then definitely find another place!
