Dr. Darren Brenner is a 1994 graduate of University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ. He was elected to the OKU Dental Honor Society and upon graduation, completed a 1 year General Practice Residency at the prestigious Newark Beth Israel Hospital. Dr. Brenner graduated with high honors from Rutgers University with a BS in Biology in 1990 and is a 1986 graduate of Colonia High School. Dr. Brenner has practiced in Hillsborough and Edison. He is now full time in his own practice in Branchburg, NJ. Dr. Brenner has participated in hundreds of hours of continuing education to remain current with the latest materials, techniques and technology available to the dental profession. One of the biggest dental insurance carriers in the UnitedStateshas selected Dr. Brenner to evaluate dental offices around the country tohelp maintain and raise theoffice standards of their providing members. Dr. Brenner has been a Branchburg resident for overfifteen years and enjoys skiing, golfing and rooting for the NY Giants with his wife Susan and two children.
Growing up in Scotch Plains,Dr. Christopher Fears is a graduate of Bucknell University and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ (Rutgers). Graduating at the very top of his dental school class, he was the recipient of many school honors and induction into the OKU Dental Honor Society.
Completing his Residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Dr. Fears received advanced training in all aspects of patient care. This included diagnosing and removing the sources of disease and discomfort, restoring damaged dental and periodontal conditions, and managing the emotional and biological requirements of patients-from childrenand special needs patients to adults and seniors.
Invitedto remain on staff at Robert WoodJohnsonandenergized by teaching,Dr. Fears continues to instructother dentistsin clinic-based and operating room dentistry. Also, fascinated by the materials and technology of dentistry, Dr. Fears exceeds the required amount of continuing education each year with courses, participation in research, product development, peer discussions, and material workshops.
Most importantly, Dr. Fears takes your care personally. He considers your oral function, stability, maintenance, appearance, and its effect on your overall health. Dr. Fears promises that you will understand your options as well as the reasons for the treatments he recommends.He loves treating patients-and it shows.
For the past fifteen years, Dr. Fears and his wife Sandy have lived in Basking Ridge with their two children (14 and 12). With his free time, he enjoys going to the gym, coffee, The History Channel, and whatever his wife suggests.

This is hands down the best dental practice I have ever been to. I had some dental issues after years of neglecting my teeth and put off going to the dentist due to fear and shame. From the moment I met with my hygienist, Amy, I was put at ease. Never did I feel shamed for avoiding the dentist for so long (which has not been the case at any of my previous dentists). Amy patiently and thoroughly explained things that I honestly probably should have known, but she did not judge me. Instead, I was treated with so much kindness and compassion. Dr. Fears explained everything he was going to do before he did it and gave me effective strategies to deal with my fear and anxiety. My teeth and gums are worlds better due to the fantastic work of Amy and Dr. Fears - now there is nothing to be afraid of!

Best dental practice! Starts when you walk in the office, two pleasant and efficient receptionists. Next the best hygienist experience I have EVER had. Last and best of all, Dr. Fears, genuinely and sincerely interested in giving you the best dental care, pleasant and kind, makes you feel right at ease. Wish I had found this practice a long time ago!

Dr. Fears puts me at ease when I'm frightened and explains what he's doing step by step. He goes above and beyond to do the right thing, making sure my bite is perfect after any dental work. Very pleased with this dentist and all the office staff, the hygienists and dental assistants. Five stars!

Office staff are very good and go above and beyond to be helpful. Dr Fears is great at making the appointment as painless as possible. He uses his experience to give the best results possible and makes you feel at ease. I would recommend him for sure.

Dr. Brenner is the BEST.....thorough, detailed, and compassionate. He is very particular and takes the time to verify his work to be of the best quality. I highly recommend him!....PS.........he's good with the needle and tells you everything he's doing in advance...no surprises!

Gentle Dental is a great place! Dr. Brenner and Dr. Fears are awesome! The staff is wonderful, kind and friendly they make you feel right at home. I get my teeth cleaned often and it's the best cleaning I have ever had. My dental hygienist Michelle is awesome! I highly recommend Gental Dental they make me smile every time! UPDATE: Michelle is no longer there. Replaced by Amy! Amy has a seriously bad attitude. She did not like me as a patient and told me to find another hygienist and that I am the one that is unprofessional. Amy has only been there a few months. She is the one who can't handle different personalities with patients. When you are in a field that services people, you have to learn to adapt to each person. Apparently Amy cannot do that. Please, if you have an appointment with her or are thinking about going to her, think again.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. This practice is awesome. Friendly, caring, considerate and professional. Christine is a wonderful RDH and makes you feel relaxed thru the whole cleaning. Dr. Fears is gentle, thorough and very honest about what needs to be fixed. So happy I found this practice! Would highly recommend them! Just had my 6 mo. Exam and everything I said above still holds true. Excellent, caring practice. Going for an appt. Is like going to spend time with friends- very enjoyable and pain free!
