Please allow me to share my background, along with my staff, giving you an opportunity to know who we are

Born in Minot ND and a graduate of Minot High, I did my undergraduate study at Jamestown University and continued on to the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, graduating in 2001. While practicing in Williston ND and working for Public Health Services, I began to feel a yearning to return to my home area. In 2008 I bought the practice from the late Dr. Jon Florence family, and I knew I'd found what I wanted for my life's work. I love the patients. I love Velva. I am humbled to continue providing care to existing patients and establishing relationships with new patients

Education is an integral part of my work, so early on I began the journey to my Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, achieving that level 2007. In June 2015 I received my Master of General Dentistry (MAGD), an accomplishment for which I am most proud. The prestigious MAGD is awarded to fewer than 5% of dentists nationwide. In dentistry, as in almost all walks of life, continuing education never stops. Through national and state symposiums we keep our practice on the cutting edge of technology and innovation, so we can provide premium care to each patient.

Sandy (Baker) Hofer is a registered dental assistant with twelve years of experience. She and Dr. Hofer are a unique team, giving our patients superb dental care. Prior to entering the dental field, she served in the Air Force for five years as a Nuclear Weapons Technician. Sandy grew up all over the world in her own military family, but currently calls North Dakota her home. She is married to Ryan Hofer. They have one child, Billy. In her free time she enjoys reading, cooking, and riding motorcycles.

Hygienist: Kayleen is from New Town, North Dakota and a 2014 graduate of Baker College, Port Huron, Michigan. She joined our team in August of 2015 and has enjoyed getting to know her patients. She is qualified as both Hygienist and assistant, bringing a wide spectrum of expertise to Velva Dental Center. She lives in Velva with her husband Jeremy and their three young children, Tucker, Brynley, and Finn. Kayleen says it is a pleasure to both live and work in Velva. She enjoys spending time with her family, golfing, and being outdoors.

Office Manager :Lynn is a native of Esmond, joined the Velva Dental Center in 2016. She is a 2002graduate of Dickinson State University with an Associate of Arts degree. After living in Montana, Lynn and her husband Larry moved back to the area with their four children to be closer to family and friends. She enjoys attending her children's activities, playing with her granddaughter, camping and spending days on the lake.
