Dr. Lewis grew up on Mercer Island and graduated from Mercer Island High School before attending the University of Washington. After receiving a degree in Chemistry, he attended the UW School of Dentistry, graduating with Honors in 1984. He immediately entered practice on Mercer Island with his father, Dr. Robert Lewis, who established the practice in 1959. Dr. Lewis has also taught at the UW School of Dentistry for 37 years in various courses, however most consistently for a weekly class teaching dental anatomy and occlusion. He lectures on various topics including maxillary incisors, mandibular molars and premolars, traumatic occlusion, and parafunction (clenching and grinding).

Dr. Lewis was the first dentist on Mercer Island to restore implants. After 35 years and thousands of restorations, it remains a particular interest among the many procedures he has the opportunity to perform. He also truly enjoys teaching at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. Having the opportunity to be a part of the development of young dentists and give back to the school where he trained is an honor. He has been awarded Instructor of the Year at the dental school over 34 times and has been a Seattle Met Magazine Top Dentist continuously for many years.

Dr. Gibson was raised in Ferndale, Washington, where she was a multi-sport athlete and a drum major in Ferndales award-winning marching band. She decided during elementary school that she wanted to be a dentist because of some great role models that she had. After graduating with honors from Ferndale High School, Kristen attended the University of Washington where she earned a B.S. in Biology in 1988, and her D.D.S. from the UW School of Dentistry in 1992. After graduation, she was invited to join both Drs. Chris and Bob Lewis in their long established practice here on Mercer Island. She has been selected as a Top Dentist with Seattle Magazine multiple times.

Dr. Gibson enjoys seeing families and putting all the pieces of their dental health together. In particular, she enjoys treating the children in the practice. From a technical standpoint, Kristen especially likes the esthetic aspects of her practice.

Dr. Gibson has been married to John since 1990 and they have two very busy children, Kaija and Matt. Both are involved in sports which take up a lot of the familys time. Kaija attends The University of Washington where she plays for the softball team, while Matt attends the University of North Dakota and is studying to be a pilot.

Dr. Felker grew up on Mercer Island, attending Mercer Island High School and later the University of Washington earning a degree in psychology. She was accepted to the UW School of Dentistry where she became a student of Dr. Lewis. During her education, she focused on working with underserved populations in community health clinics, Seattles Union Gospel Mission, and in rural neighborhoods. Dr. Felker received additional experience while serving on an oral surgery rotation in Jamaica, an advanced clinical rotation in geriatric dentistry, and a special study on oral lesions. She received the Earl C. Maston scholarship for excellence in preclinical operative dentistry and served as the President of the UW chapter of the American Student Dental Association. Along with being in private practice, she is currently teaching part time at the UW dental school, an activity she began as a 4th year student.

Dr. Felker was invited to join Dr. Gibson and Dr. Lewis at their practice on Mercer Island after graduation. She is excited to not only expand the office hours but also expand the services offered including extractions and root canals. She is passionate about her pursuit of excellence in dentistry and using those skills to benefit her community.

Dr. Felker enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring the outdoors, sports, and culinary adventures. She lives by Greenlake with her boyfriend Eric and dog Luna who keeps her active with swimming and fetch. Her parents still live on Mercer Island and she has two older sisters who also live nearby.

I have been a patient for 10 years. I'm thoroughly satisfied with level of care by all staff - both the two dentists and their support staff. They focus on always doing what is appropriate for the patient. Quality of work is excellent, pricing is very fair and great ethics in patient care and procedures.

I recently fell and significantly damaged 3 of my front teeth. Not only was Dr. Lewis incredibly understanding of how difficult the trauma for me personally, he provided excellent care from start to finish. It was a lengthy and challenging project that involved 3 crowns and an implant. He was very thoughtful about how to best approach the situation and truly went way above and beyond every step of the way. I could not have asked for better care. How often can you say you enjoyed spending time with a dentist? I did!!
