Dr. Charles W. Schwimer is a Board Certified Periodontist and has practiced Periodontics and placed Dental Implants since 1987. Located in Robinson Township, Dr. Schwimer provides state-of-the-art Periodontal and Implant treatments in a personalized and caring environment.

Dr. Charles Schwimer believes that your right to choose a dentist is an important freedom. We work closely with your dentist, but a referral by a dentist is not required to visit our office. We also welcome referrals from patients and friends of the practice.

Dr. Charles Schwimer maintains a full-time private practice in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA limited to periodontics and implants, specializing in biologically based preservation and he received his BS degree in Psychology and later received his DMD at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1985. Dr. Schwimer Received his speciality certification in Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania and his Branemark implant certification from the TIP training center at Columbia University in 1987. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology since 1993, Clinical Professor of Periodontics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania school of Dental Medicine.
Most recently Dr. Schwimer focuses upon the clinical advancement of Partial Extraction Therapies and Osseodensification. Dr Schwimer is the creator and owner of SPoTSite Preservation of Tissue.Dr. Schwimer provides state of the art Periodontal and Implant treatments in a personalized and caring environment.
Dr. Schwimer held the position of Assistant Clinical Professor and taught Postdoctoral Periodontics at the University of Pittsburgh. He lectured on the use of the Laser in Periodontal treatment, and continues to be active with continuing education to ensure he is proficient in current concepts and treatment modlities.
Socket Shield/Partial ExtractionTherapy (PET) and Osseodensification are 2 new areas of implant dentistry in which Dr. Schwimer is an internationally renowned expert. He continues to lecture in the United States and Internationally.
SPoT is dedicated to SITE PRESERVATION of TISSUE for Implant and Restorative Dentistry. The goal is to educate and promote cases demonstrating innovative diagnostics, techniques and instrumentation that preserve and enhance our patients own tissues.

I would like to start by saying **I** am the worst patient. (SERIOUSLY) I travel the country and have been asked to leave before. Dr. Charles NEVER made me feel bad or like I was being dramatic. He and his entire staff showed me nothing but COMPASSION and CONCERN. I live "some" hours away and will always make the drive for professionalism. I never had a problem with billing or misleading cost information. I am forever grateful for Dr. Schwimer and his whole office for their understanding and support during a HIGH anxiety time for me. I will always advocate for this office. They are the B E S T!

I was sent to this man to get an implant he took an x-ray and see that my bone and my jaw will not hold the implant but instead of adding or grafting bone to it he drilled it anyways and tried to fit in the implant and it was loose when I left the office Andy charged me $4,600 and got me approved for another credit card Care Credit and build them $1,000 so I have to pay all that back but I'm fighting it now because he should have never ever tried to put that implant in before the bone graft any sensible dentist would have what did the bone graft first it doesn't make sense unless he just wanted the money which is what it seems

Do not go to this doctor he pulled a tooth of mine and I was never in so much pain he gave me Novacaine but didn't want to wait for it to take affect and I was screaming so loud that he threaten to remove me from the office and all I asked him for was a little bit of time to a while with the pain medicine to take affect but he did not care and just kept on drilling and pulling

I've been going for periodontal cleanings a couple times a year. The hygienist Jane is excellent - she's the reason I go there - and the office workers are all very nice. Dr Schwimer barely looks in my mouth and charges for evaluations. He no longer accepts insurance of any kind but doesn't tell existing patients until they receive the bill, so it's especially out of line when he recently spent 5 seconds looking at my gums for $90 "comprehensive evaluation" and $180 cleaning.

The staff there is great. They're funny and so much fun! And Dr. Schwimer is the best at his craft! Very rare you find all of this at a doctors office but it's all right here. I'd recommend Dr. Schwimer anyday!

I came in to see Dr Schwimer regarding an implant that everyone else was afraid to attempt to place. He took the time to explain to me how the process works and we set forward. My dentist looked at it and was amazed at the level of work that done. I went back for a wisdom tooth issue as well and again, it was resolved. Finding a Periodontist that is at the top of charts is extremely difficult and I am glad i found him and his office as well. Everyone was extremely friendly.

I do not like going to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned, let alone having to see a specialist! Dr. Schwimer, Shelia, Veronica, and Jane are by far the BEST of the BEST and I highly recommend him for periodontal care and dental implants. Staff is VERY friendly and ALWAYS makes me feel COMFORTABLE! I open the door for an appointment, and the first thing I see are smiling faces. Dr. Schwimer does AWESOME work and ensures I am okay throughout each procedure I have received! He is an absolute perfectionist ! It is VERY obvious that he loves what he does! He cares about his patients & does everything he can to save teeth vice pull them. Post-op, Dr. Schwimer makes himself available to his patients over the weekend if they should have a problem! I refuse to go anywhere else!!! 100% happy with the care I have received for the past three years! If I could give him a 10 star rating, I would!

The service itself was fine, but their ethics are deplorable. If you do schedule with them, I would recommend insisting on a Predetermination of Benefits to avoid being fleeced. For background, they assured me that they took my insurance and even called in advance for an estimate. I was then billed roughly $1,000 more than the estimated $700 for a 20 minute scaling. The office tried to deflect and blame my insurance, but the real problem is that they're out of network for ALL dental plan providers, and never felt it was appropriate to explain that (even after I specifically asked if they took my insurance). I worked with Health Advocate to figure out why I had received an outrageous bill and attempt to negotiate a more reasonable charge, but they outright refused. Shame on them and their shady business practices.

I came to Dr. Schwimer quite unexpectedly. I was laid off from my job, and my insurance was going to run out at the end of the month. My dentist said I needed to see a periodontist. I was able to get an appointment the next day. Not only did I have periodontal disease, I had a tooth that needed to be pulled. He pulled the tooth, and placed an implant in. I continue to see Dr. Schwimer and I'm happy to say I have a healthy mouth.
