Our practice is a woman and minority-owned business and locally owned. Dr. Elidia C. Fidel is the founder of the practice. She has built out the current office specifically with the treatment of her pediatric patients in mind. We highly value ensuring our services are accessible to all our members of the community. Our office is complete ADA-accessible. We also take pride in serving our special-needs patients. We also try our utmost to make our treatment as affordable as we can. For those patients who do not have dental insurance we offer the alternative of an in-house discount plan. And we extend are practice beyond the normal 5-day business week to offer Saturday hours as well.

Our goal at Arlington Pediatric Dentistry is to provide your loved ones with personalized care and attention. Each of our specialist doctors works endlessly to create a safe and comfortable environment for our patients. We understand that when it comes to your children, you want to make sure you are providing them with the best care possible. Our pediatric dentists believe that knowledge is power, so patient education is also a top priority at our office. Beyond the treatments we offer, we want to ensure that the families that come to our office leave having learned more about proper oral health care and maintenance.

Office ManagerRenata is from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She previously worked as a dental assistant for many years before joining our practice. So along with her knowledge and experience with administrative matters, she also has a first-hand understanding of the clinical aspects of dental care. Renata coordinates our orthodontic treatment and general anesthesia. She has been with the office for over 10 years. When she is not in the office she is spending time with her family and her dog Pit/Lab, Maximus.

Lead Dental Assistant/OSHA CoordinatorElizabeth was born in Lima, Peru, and attended Northern Virginia Community College for her dental education. She has been working for Arlington Pediatric Dentistry for over 10 years. She is certified in both CPR and X-rays. Among her continuing education courses, she counts a dental radiation seminar, the Atlanta Hinman meeting, multiple OSHA training courses, a dental coding course, as well as courses taught on diseases of the teeth and jaw, dental care for infants, and how to treat patients with autism in a dental setting.

Elizabeth loves learning about different cultures and their languages perhaps this is the key to the special knack she has to easily communicate with all our patients. She loves dentistry because she truly loves giving children a healthy smile. Her favorite part about working at APD is the opportunity to work with children. Over the years, she has developed the confidence and connection needed to work with kids! Elizabeth is fluent in Spanish.

Dental AssistantNinoska or Nino as she likes to be called hails from Cochabamba, Bolivia, where she earned her degree as a surgeon/dentist from the Universidad Mayor de San Simon. She has been with Arlington Pediatric Dentistry for over 10 years. Nino is certified in CPR and OSHA guidelines. She has also completed many additional training courses at Northern Virginia Community College, including dental care for infants, how to treat patients with autism in a dental setting, nitrous oxide administration for children, dental radiation safety, and pit and fissure sealants.

Nino speaks English and Spanish, which helps her provide all of our patients with beautiful smiles. At APD, she likes the environment and working with the kids. She enjoys helping them overcome their fear, and the infants (ages 3-5 years) are her favorite patients! When a child comes into the office crying or afraid, Nino explains the procedure and comforts the patient. When that child leaves the room with a smile, and sometimes a big hug, that makes Ninos day!

Dental AssistantSandy was raised in Cochabamba, Bolivia, where she completed her studies in general dentistry at the Universidad Mayor de San Simon. She has been with Arlington Pediatric Dentistry for over eight years. Certified in CPR and administration of X-rays, Sandy has attended courses taught on how to treat patients with autism in a dental setting and dental radiation safety. She also speaks fluent Spanish.

Born and raised in Argentina, she received her nursing assistance education at the Navy Health School. She then earned a dental degree from the National University of La Plata School of Dentistry. Monica has been with our office since 2012.

Monica enjoys helping people feel better and healthier about their teeth. She also cherishes the working environment at APD. She feels like part of a big family! She loves to talk with everyone co-workers and patients alike! If you ever had the good fortune to visit our office around Halloween then you were treated to her very original Halloween costumes. Monica loves dressing up for the kids and is a perennial winner of the office Halloween costume contest.

Administrative AssistantJessica joined our practice in 2010. She originally comes from Lima, Peru so she is fluent in Spanish. Jessica has great attention to detail. Outside of work, Jessica spends her time with her family and her dog, Bailey.

Billing SpecialistYesenia is responsible for billing and the processing of insurance claims for the office. Yesenia has been with our practice since 2011. She has over ten years of experience working in dental offices. Yesenia has a wonderful and infectious smile and is always full of energy. She has beautiful children which keep her more than occupied outside of the office. Yesenia is fluent in Spanish.

We have created a child-friendly environment with an imaginative and creative flair, to be a pleasing home for your childs dental care. We have a special area in our reception room with a TV featuring child-friendly content, games, and diversions for your child. Throughout the office, you will find original paintings by young artists, as well as wall murals to light up the atmosphere and distract your child.

The clinical area has an open sterilization area so you can observe the measures we take to ensure the safety of our patients. Our chairs are in open spaces and our treatment rooms are enclosed to maintain the privacy and comfort of our patients. Each dental chair has an overhead television to divert your child while receiving treatment.

Dr. Arpi Khare is the proud owner of Arlington Pediatric Dentistry and a boardcertified pediatric dentist. She was raised in Virginia and attended the University of Virginia for her undergraduate degree. She then went on to the University of Maryland for her dental degree where she graduated magna cum laude at the top of her class. Following dental school, she completed an additional two years of pediatric dental training at Virginia Commonwealth University. . She has been practicing in theDMV area for 6+ years and was voted a top dentist by her peers in Washingtonian magazine in 2019, 2020, and 2021. Dr. Arpi has always loved being around kids and takes great pride in being able to care for your children in her practice. Having two young sons herself, shewill always treat your children with the experience of a pediatric dentist, but the heart of a mom. She is excited to meet all of the families at APD!

Dr. Natalie Muir-Young was born and raised on the beautiful island of Jamaica. Her love for children, desire to serve the community, and a particular interest in working with special needs patients drew her to the field of pediatric dentistry. Dr. Young graduated from Howard University College of Dentistry in 2005. She completed two years of residency in general dentistry at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York before returning to Howard University to pursue postdoctoral training in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Young received several academic awards, including Howard Universitys Pediatric Dentistry Award, to the resident who achieved the highest grade point average during the two years of postdoctoral study. She is passionate about working with children and providing a positive dental experience for both parent and child.

Dr. Cruz-Chu believes that it is essential that all children have access to quality professional dental care. He strives to minimize the anxiety children may foster when visiting the dentist so as to form life-long habits of regular dental visits and good dental hygiene.

Dr. Shiva Kermanshi received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California. She then received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Boston University with Magna Cum Laude honors. While in Boston, she volunteered her services annually for physically and mentally challenged children and was also involved in services pertaining to underprivileged youth. Dr. Kermanshi earned her degree in orthodontics from Howard University, achieving the highest academic average amongst her colleagues during her postgraduate study. Her two-year specialty residency included advanced education in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, early treatment for children, adult orthodontics, Invisalign certification, and orthodontics for patients undergoing orthognathic surgery.

Dr. Kermanshi is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Virginia Dental Association, and Southern Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Kermanshi prides herself in providing the highest quality orthodontic care in the most gentle and efficient manner possible. She strives to provide her patients with the most comfortable, personalized treatment using the latest and most up-to-date technology.

Pleased to have found this pratice after being told my daughter needed unnecessary work from another dentist. Renata was most gracious and helpful setting up my daughter's appointment and explaining Covid-19 protocol. Pleased to hear staff will ensure a safe environment.
