The surgical specialty of Oral & Maxillofacial, unlike plastic surgery is specific to surgeries of the soft tissue and skeleton of the head and neck as well as the oral cavity. These surgeries include surgeries of the oral cavity (dental implants, tooth removal, pre-prosthetics), Facial Trauma, Reconstruction, Facial Cosmetic Surgery, Orthagnathic Surgery, as well as anesthesia services.

He is on staff at local hospitals and provides emergency room coverage for facial injuries, which include facial lacerations, fractured facial bones (cheek, nose, skull, or eye socket) and fractured jaws (upper and lower jaw).
