The Gum Doc, Dr. Bruce Edelstein, has provided exceptional periodontal care to Atlanta area residents since 1984 and firmly believes that dentistry is an art and science. His patients benefit from not only his clinical expertise and experience but the creativity he brings as well. Being a fine art photographer, Dr. Edelsteins artistic skills play a large role in creating and delivering effective periodontal therapy. Hiseye for beauty can ensure that the patients smile is the most esthetic it can be!
Being a top expert in his profession, Dr. Edelstein lectures extensively locally and nationally lending his expertise. The office was honored to be designated a Center of Excellence for regenerative therapies where it became a place of learning for fellow periodontists. Another distinction extended to Dr. Edelstein was an invitation from the Pierre Fauchard Academy to join the International Honorary Dental Service Organization. The Pierre Fauchard Academy seeks to recognize outstanding dentists and is bestowed upon less than 4% of the dental profession worldwide.
Personal interests include pursuance of his own fine art landscape black and white photography. His photographs have been shown in local galleries, are in private art collections, and are proudly displayed throughout his office in a gallery-like manner to create a soothing and interesting environment.
Dr. Edelstein enjoys a full and rewarding family life which includes his best friend and wife, Amy, and their two terrific children. The Edelstein family enjoys traveling, biking, fishing, and supporting the children in all of their many activities. Lastly, three furry critterstwo Goldendoodles (one of whom is our office mascot!) and a boxer add to the household medley.
Dr. Andrew Kurialacherry is a practicing periodontist from the esteemed Augusta University Periodontics program. Originally from Texas, he received his Bachelors in both Religion and Chemistry and then soon earned his DMD (Doctorate in Medical Dentistry) from Midwestern University School of Dentistry in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Kurialacherry initially settled in Seattle, WA where he practiced general dentistry for two years in a private practice where he was able to pick up a holistic approach to dental treatment. After observing the prevalence of periodontal disease and appreciating the meticulous nature of periodontal and implant surgery, Dr. Kurialacherry decided to further his career into the field of periodontics. During his residency, he has published clinical research and been awarded scholarships all while maintaining a strong leadership role.
He strongly believes in patient education and making sure patients understand all aspects of treatment from pre-surgery to future outcomes. This allows patients to feel comfortable and confident in treatment while at the same time feeling taken care of.
