Thirty + years ago, Dr. Hanratty bought a Cessna 210 for the expressed purpose of taking physicians, dentists and other health professionals down to Mexico for volunteer services to remote, undeserved areas. Dr. Hanratty was the dentist coordinator and past president of the Phoenix chapter of the Flying Samaritans. Dr. Hanratty continues to volunteer his dental and pilot skills to the Flying Samaritans in addition to providing services at the Noor Clinic located in beautiful San Luis Obispo.
Not always a dentist, but a fearful dental patient much of his adult life, Dr. Hanratty wrote CAD/CAM computer software for Manufacturing and Consulting Services, Inc., the company that founded the commercial CAD/CAM industry. As the Executive Vice-President, he was responsible for the technical side of the company and pioneering many new software techniques and computer algorithms. Much of this technology has been incorporated into dentistry today. Aviation provided the pathway that led Brian Hanratty to dentistry. With over 5,000 hours of flight time, Dr. Hanratty holds an Airline Transport Pilot license for multi-engine airplane and Citation jet, a commercial license for instrument, single and multi-engine airplane.
Tracy - RDATracy graduated from S.J.V.C. in 1994 in Bakersfield, CA. After marrying the love of her life Tim that same year they moved to the central coast with her daughter Annette (below). In February 2012, Tracy became a proud member of the team at Dr. Hanratty's, and in January 2014, Tracy was excited to have her daughter working along side. Tracy's free time is spent with her husband Tim and their dogs. Weekend dinners with her daughter and Eduardo. Tracy loves to experiment in the kitchen making tasty treats. Holidays in her home is full of love with family from the central valley coming as often as possible.
Annette -RDAAnnette was excited to join Dr. Hanratty's team in January of 2014. Annette is proud to have followed in her mothers footsteps by graduating from S.J.V.C. in Bakersfield, CA. She received her associates of science degree, radiology, sealant certificate and coronal polish. Annette and her mother Tracy are not only co-worker but also are best friends who are often laughing and spending much of their free time together. Annette married the love of her life, Eduardo November of 2016. They are now expecting their first child in mid June 2018. Annette and her husband love living on the central coast and on the weekends they enjoy spending time with family, watching movies, go wine tasting and taking their little dog Marley on walks.
Rosey - Registered Dental HygienistRosey is the newest addition to our team as of November 2017 and new to the central coast as well. She and her daughter, Angelica, made an exciting, life changing move here from Fresno after living there for many years. They are happily settling in their new home with Sadie and Princess, their pets. Rosie is a well experienced dental hygienist and received her A.S. degree from Fresno City College. In her free time she enjoys baking, hiking, running on the beach, music concerts, events and activities the central coast has to offer.

I highly recommend Dr Hanratty and his office. He has done several fillings and three crowns/bridges/caps for me in the past two years. I could not be happier with the results. Great bedside manner, professional office staff and the evening phone call to check and make sure you're OK after the procedure all earn very high marks in my book. I feel cared for by the best dentist in the area.

I feel like I've been to a hundred dentists in my life and I would have to vote him the best. He doesn't try to overcharge you or do some dentistry you don't need just to make more money in the business. I came to him for a 2nd opinion and going to stay. Do you want a dentist who is honest? Do you want a dentist who doesn't find a way to have you or your insurance company pay every penny he/she can get? Do you want a dentist who's life passion is dentistry? The last one is really hard to find. He told me if I had ANY questions feel free to call him. Since I already recently had X rays and an exam and cleaning at my other dentist, my insurance wasn't going to pay for this again, so they didn't even charge me for it even though I was prepared to pay it just to have a good dentist. BTW, I didn't tell him I was there for a 2nd opinion regarding a chip in a filling that my previous dentist wanted to make into a crown for $1200. Dr Hanratty looked at it and said it only needed a little resin to fix it.

I went twice for dental cleaning. First time the hygienist took out a piece of tooth during cleaning that ending up in an early root canal that cost me $5000. Second cleaning about six months later, same lady cleans my teeth and takes out a prior filling and then the office wants to charge me another $250 to fix it. These guys are a rip off and you are more likely to come out of there with more dental work needed than when you went in.

Dr. Hanratty is a very caring dentist. His staff is also kind and professional. He explains what is going on with your teeth and if you need work why you need the work. He is always patient, pleasant, and goes above and beyond when you are having a dental crisis which I greatly appreciate.

very unprofessional practice. Had blue ink dropped on my face, neck and dress, was strayed with water the entire time(face, arm, and neck), and i had to clean myself up when i got wet. he demanded that he show me the picture of me teeth, which i didn't want to see, I'm not a dentist for a reason, and even asked if I had to see them and he said yes you have to look. If you are looking for a professional dentist, this is not it.

So I was on vacation in Pismo when a crown of mine came off. Since a lot of the local offices had been shut down due to Covid 19 I had a hard time finding someone who would see me. However, on a recommendation from another Pismo Beach dentist, I called Dr. Hanratty's office and within 15 minutes I was at their office filling out paperwork and was back at my vacation rental around and hour later. Dr. Hanratty and his staff were very professional and helped me resolve my issue. More importantly, I think it is telling on how well they treated someone who they weren't going to get any future business from and helped me out even when he was just as business as the other dentists in the area. Thanks again.

The staff has always been friendly and great. He's had the same wonderful staff for years so they work well together. The Dr has a great personality and does a wonderful job. I've been going here for years and have never had a complaint. After major work the Dr also has called me personally to check up on how I'm feeling. How rare is that these days?

The anger and unprofessionalism that Brian Hanratty showed because of a filling that he just filled last week and was giving me problems is inexcusable . He needs to put aside his ego and the fact he has 3 people in chairs and it is a Monday and put his big boy pants on and handle business. I would not recommend anyone to Brian Hanratty. A good doctor/dentist is able to perform under pressure if you want to retain clients. He broke under pressure and started questioning my feelings and disregarding them. Just think about this truth before you build a relationship with Brian. My wife and I have been Brians client for years and his behavior this morning was inexcusable which has cost him 2 good clients and a lot of negative feedback in our small beach community. Shame on you Brian.

Dr. Hanratty as well as his staff are awesome. Both receptionists are wonderful and friendly, they smile as you walk in the door make you feel like you want to be there. Dr. Hanratty is kind, gentle and caring, he explains everything in detail no matter if busy or not he pays attention to every one of his patients and his dental work is very good as well, I would trust him with any of my dental needs. His dental hygienists are all caring and gentle as well. I would recommend this office to anyone who is in search of a well rounded dental office from the dentist himself to his staff.
