Originally from rural Illinois, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana before going on to earn a Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in Chicago.
My wife, Susan, and I have loved raising our two daughters in Colorado. As new empty nesters, there never seems to be a dull moment with the odd mix of rescue and foster mutts that keep pawing their way into our hearts and home. I love all things nature and I can often be found staring at the mountains, rivers, trees, and stars simply enjoying the sweetness of nothing!
Ive lived in Fort Collins for more than 25 years. I have two beautiful sons, Eric and Ben, who are both swimmers. Were a close-knit family and as my husband, Rob says, The family that plays together, stays together! We love being outside, especially camping and windsurfing.
My patients, by far and away, are the best part of my work. I love to get to know each person so I can give them the individual care they deserve, and so I can develop a better understanding of their dental needs and overall health. As I learn about their lifestyle and hobbies, I talk with them about home dental hygiene processes that will work with their needs. In addition to cleaning teeth and providing periodontal therapy, I spend a lot of my day educating patients and motivating them to improve their oral health so theyll have years of great smiles.
Ive spent my life in Colorado. I love being with my husband John, and two children, Jenna and Jason. We have three horses, a dog, two cats, and chickens. As a family, we enjoy being outdoors, riding horses, camping, boating, and snowmobiling together.

I have been going to this office for awhile now, and I routinely receive exceptional care in all regards. Dr. Cox and his staff are very knowledgable with exceptional bedside manner. Kristi (the dental hygienist I routinely work with) is very thorough and clearly takes pride in what she does. Nancy (office manager) is patient with handling any scheduling/financial/insurance questions you may have. They really are a rockstar team!

So glad I found this dentist office. The staff is always the same folks and each one is incredibly nice and considerate. Dr. Cox is highly knowledgeable and is great at communicating the steps he's taking. Not only explaining treatment, but while he is performing the treatment as well, making the experience comfortable. Highly recommend.

I am new to the area and was in need of a new dentist. As I adored my previous dentist, who I saw for over 20 years, I procrastinated finding a new provider as I didn't think anyone could compare. I was wrong. Dr. Cox has created a fabulous practice surrounded by wonderful folks. The friendly staff is efficient and capable. Dr. Cox is caring, knowledgeable and patient. He explained everything in great detail. I didn't wait more than a minute for my appointment and appreciated my timely visit. What a competent crew! Absolutely 5 stars. But only because the system won't let me give them 10!
