Dr. Fischman received his D.D.S. from New York University, College of Dentistry. He then completed an internship and general practice residency at Long Island Jewish-Queens Hospital Center, and a residency in Prosthodontics at Kingsbrook Medical Center. Dr. Fischman is in private practice in Great Neck, New York. (A prosthodontist is a specialist in restorative dentistry. This involves crowns and bridges, cosmetic dentistry, implant restorations, and rehabilitation due to dental disease, cancer, or trauma).
Dr. Fischman is the Director of the Implant Institute at the Jamaica Hospital Center, an Assistant Professor at the New York State University School of Dental Medicine, and has lectured extensively, both domestically and internationally, on Implant Prosthetics. He is an Attending Clinician in Prosthodontics at the Mt. Sinai-Queens Hospital Center, Jamaica Medical Center, and a prosthodontic consultant at the Stony Brook University Hospital. He is a member of the American College of Prosthodontics, the American Prosthodontic Society, Academy of osseointegration, and a master in the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics. He is also a diplomat in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and the American Society of Osseointegration.
