Dr. Bob began his career in Long Island where his private practice developed and grew into a state of the art dental facility in Uniondale, New York. He served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook, NY from 1996 through 1999 in the Department of General Dentistry. He moved to Antrim, New Hampshire in 1999 and joined the Group Practice of Dr A.J. Homicz. While practicing in New Hampshire he acquired over 1000 hours of continuing education. New Hampshire Magazine cited Dr. Weigand as one of the 'Top Dentists in New Hampshire' in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
Dr Bob performs his dentistry with the aid of a Dental Microscope. He began his Clinical Microscopic Training in 2005 at the Newport Coast Oral Facial Institute in Newport Coast, California. Since that time his goal has been to have a microscope-centered practice. His dream has come true. As a member of AMED (Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry) since 2005, his shared mission is to Encourage, Inspire and Educate the Dental Community and his Patients as to the benefits of Microscopic Dentistry.
Dr Bob's memberships, both past and present include, the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the New York Academy of Sciences, the Aesculapius Medical Arts Society, the Flying Dentists Association and the prestigious Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry.
Dr Bob 's passion, in addition to dentistry, is Flying. He is an avid pilot and received his training at Flight Safety International in Vero Beach, Florida where he 'Earned His Wings'. He has both Single Engine and Multi Engine Ratings. His plane , a 1973 Grumman American Traveler,was built by the Grumman Corporation, which has a long and proud history for building aircraft for the U.S. Navy. His plane is based at the former NAS Brunswick. He loves taking walks along the beautiful Maine Coast with his wife, Lisa and his Havanese dog, Petey. They also love quahogging. He also enjoys Sailing, Deep Sea Fishing,Scuba Diving, Boating or any of the activities that involve the ocean. He says 'It 's in my Blood'. He comes from a Family of Seafaring Norwegians. His Grandmother and her 9 brothers and sisters were born on a little island off of Lillesand, Norway. He says that the Coast of Southern Norway and Maine are very similar. He said there has always been a magnet drawing him to Maine but he wanted to try New Hampshire and Vermont first. He said he was going to save 'The Best' for last. Welcome to Maine Dr Bob!
The maingoal of minimally invasive dentistry, or microdentistry, is to conserve the most healthy tooth structure possible. Using modern scientific advances, minimally invasive dentists perform the least amount of dentistry needed while never removing more of the tooth structure than is required to restore teeth to their healthy condition.
Here at Dr Bobs Family Dentistryin Brunswick, I use a dental operating microscope to perform 100% of all my dentistry. I belong to an organization called The Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry (AMED). The mission of the Academy is to serve the dental profession and the public by being a source of scientific evidence-based information (as evidenced by microscopic magnification), and an advocate on the advantages of the operating stereomicroscope and associated operative techniques in microdentistry. The Academy has not only educated and inspired me as to the benefits of microscopic dentistry, but it has allowed me to grow from our combined wealth of experiences by sharing both failures as well as successes.
I have been using the dental operating microscope for over ten years now, and I consider it to be the most valuable piece of technology that I use. The microscope has truly transformed the way I practice dentistry in ways I never imagined. The microscope gives me increased precision and a higher level of confidence that all decay has been removed. When utilizing lasers, the microscope is very helpful in better observing laser-tissue interactions. Most importantly, however, the microscope enables me to better diagnose problems early and effectively communicate these problems to my patients.

Completely unprofessional and discriminate against disabled patients! Should not be allowed to continue practicing! Personally speaking with Dr. Bob and his wife - he's worse than she is!!! Zero problem solving skill and a total lack of compassion! I am on disability needing assistance and they quite literally were cold, callous and outright hurtful! I was warned against this facility previously and I do believe the negative rumors now. Please - there are many better places out there - don't subject yourself to the hateful nature of this establishment! Topsham Dental I called immediately after and everything this office (Dr. Bob) refused to do and help with - they gladly empathized with my disability and accommodations were made to make me feel safe and comfortable! Any place is better at this point than this place that refuses to accommodate people with disabilities!!! Go elsewhere!!!

I highly recommend Dr. Bob's family dentistry in Brunswick , Maine . My adult children now are patients as well. I love their professionalism ,but also that they are caring, and always pay attention to detail ! I continue to recommend my extended family , friends and clients from my own small business. Dr. Bob and his hygienist (I'm sorry I don't know her name) were so wonderful! I came in with a small infection and was so scared. They made me feel comfortable and made sure I knew exactly what was going to happen. They are sooooo nice and welcoming and not judgmental! I'm so glad I went to see Dr. Bob!

I had the most amazing experience in every possible way! I encountered a tooth problem while in Maine, but reside in Maryland. I called 2 other dental offices, but they were unable to schedule an appointment. I called Dr Bob's office, explained my concern, and I was scheduled to see Dr Bob that same week. As it turns out, I cracked my tooth and needed a crown. The care I received was exemplary. Not only was I treated with utmost care and professionalism but the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend Dr Bob's Dental Care!!

I had an extraction today. I have never had a dentist be as informative, relaxed and pleasant while doing anything in my mouth. It is always an uncomfortable invasive place to have anyone go into. Dr. Hena and Jamie made the horrible very tolerable. Both were very good at keeping it light and calm. I have had many dentists in my years but this practice was amazing. Dr Bob is a great dentist! I've had crowns and root canals done and he's done them wonderfully; I didn't have to curl my toes once. All hygienists have been excellent as well. You would not regret putting your teeth in his hands.

I've been going to this office for around 4 years and gotten upwards of 10 minor to major fillings. Doctor Bob is very gentle with needles in the mouth and makes it a very easy process. All of the hygienists are careful and aware of your comfort level, very satisfying service here. Definitely recommend this Dentist's office to all of my friends!

Having not been to a dentist in years I was very nervous to go back. From the moment I walked in the door I felt very comfortable. My experience was terrific! I'm 57. I share that only so the reader understands I've had my teeth cleaned many, MANY times. I just had my teeth cleaned by Brenda at Dr. Bob's. It was by far the most thorough, rigorous, deliberate - yet GENTLE and considerate cleaning I've ever had. Brenda's work is typical of the care I have received at Dr. Bob's Family Dentistry; the same adjectives apply to all the staff from Dr Bob himself all the way up to Dawn at the front desk. You won't find a better dental practice!

I was visiting my sister in Maine from out of state. I lost a crown and we were leaving the next day for a windjammer cruise. I was desperate to find a dentist to repair my crown before we left. I was thrilled when the receptionist was understanding and fit us into the schedule. Jamie, the dental assistant was pleasant and reassuring and Dr Henna made sure there was no infection and did a fantastic job of reinserting the crown. I could not have been more pleased with this office!!!

They insist on a $150 initial fee where they literally just meet you.... It's not a comprehensive exam. Then scheduled me for a cleaning for an additional $150. The cleaning does not include an exam- they claimed in order to do a full exam they need to do X-rays in order to check for cavities (that's not true) so total is $400.... This is for a tiny, cramped, unsanitary raggedy little office in Brunswick Maine.
