Dr. Ben Samuelson earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Auburn University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He then attended the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, earning his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. While in dental school, he was the president of his dental class and received numerous awards, including the Deans Medal. The Dean's Medal is known as the most coveted honor presented to a member of the graduating class, personally selected and presented by the Dean.
Upon graduation, Dr. Ben was awarded the Alumni Leadership Award and was also inducted into the OKU national honorary dental fraternity. From there, he continued at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, where he completed his orthodontic residency program, served as chief resident, and earned his Masters of Science in Orthodontics. The residency program includes advanced education in biomedical, behavioral and basic sciences, giving Dr. Ben the complex skills required to manage tooth movement (orthodontics), guide facial development (dentofacial orthopedics), understand facial surgery (surgical orthodontics) and diagnose and treat many other problems related to the head and neck. Dr. Ben then went on to become a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Ben maintains professional memberships in the American Dental Association, American Board of Orthodontics, American Association of Orthodontists, and Southern Association of Orthodontists. He enjoys attending continuing education courses and staying up-to-date on the newest advancements in orthodontics.
Dr. Ben feels strongly about giving back to his profession and community. Since graduating, he has continued his affiliation with University of Alabama School of Dentistry, where he serves as volunteer faculty to dental students and residents in the orthodontics residency clinic. Dr. Ben enjoys volunteering at school events and participating in sponsorships to support patients and their families within the community.
Since every patient is different, orthodontists face technical and creative challenges every day. Samuelson Orthodontics is a practice known for its family-centered environment and the relationships built with patients and their families.
Dr. Ben and his wife, Mallory, live in Hoover, and while they do not have any children, they have a dog named Bella who is currently filling that role! Dr. Ben enjoys woodworking and spending time with family and friends. He is also an avid sports fan and loves coaching youth sports.

From our very first visit to our very last, Dr. Samuelson has been nothing but Amazing. He always informed us of where we were with progress and what our next step would be. Very kind and willing to be patient and understanding. We would highly recommend Dr. Ben to anybody else looking for a good orthodontist!

We absolutely love Ben Samuelson and all his staff at both locations, they are very informative always answered any questions and always treated my daughter great. We loved the care we received and are still receiving from them I would recommend him to everyone I know!! Also Campbell is great and very informative!! We could not be happier with Dr. Samuelson! We had a lot of questions about the treatment plan for our daughter, and he went above and beyond to answer our questions. My husband was unable to be at the appointment, so Dr. Samuelson scheduled a video chat with us to discuss options. We are so very grateful for his kindness. Our daughter also loves him, and she was very nervous about this process. The office staff is great as well. Overall a wonderful experience!! We would recommend, and have, to anyone looking for an orthodontist!

Dr. Samuelson and his staff are THE best!! I have no experience to compare but I truly cannot imagine the orthodontic process going any better than it has for us. I cannot say enough good things!! First, Dr. Samuelson has a gentle and kind spirit that puts nervous kids at ease. It is obvious he cares deeply about what he does and also for his patients. His staff is amazing--they are ALL so friendly and try to ensure a positive experience for the kids, every time.

We used Dr. Samuelson's services for our son's braces. He and his entire team did an amazing job. Our son is braces free as of today and his teeth look great. We highly recommend Dr. Samuelson.

We loved Dr. Samuelson from day one! He and his staff have always been super sweet, understanding and courteous! My daughter was nervous at first and was easily calmed and had no problem walking in alone for her appointments. Dr Samuelson made sure to meet with me after every appointment and explain the changes and what was next. This was such a smooth process from the beginning to the end. They will be highly recommended for sure! We look forward to when our girl needs a full set... because then, we know she's in great hands!
