Dr. Yalda continued her training at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill where she received her Masters of Science in Periodontics in 1993. During her residency, she completed her research on inflammatory mediators in periodontal disease in diabetic patients. Her research has been published in the Journal of Periodontology and Periodontology 2000.
Dr. Yalda is a member of both local and national professional organizations and participates in many continuing education courses to keep current with the rapidly progressing field of Dentistry and specifically Periodontics.
Dr. Akhtar prides herself on her integrity and sincere desire to provide her patients with the utmost attention and evidence-based care. She also strongly believes in giving back to the community. She has been involved with Baltimore-based community outreach programs and has participated in dental outreach programs abroad.
DARLENE OFFICE MANAGER Darlene is our office manager and insurance coordinator. Darlene has been apart of Dr. Yaldas team for 26 years. Darlene joined Dr. Yaldas team with 10 years of prior experience in the medical field. Darlenes attention to detail allows her to go above and beyond for our patients. Darlene takes pride in making our patients feel important and takes time to make sure their needs are met. Darlene enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her husband, three children and two grandsons.
MANDY CDA Mandy has been apart of Dr. Yaldas team since 2014. Mandy joined Dr. Yaldas team with over 25 years of experience in general dentistry and periodontal surgery. Mandys friendly personality and caring nature makes patients feel comfortable when she is assisting chair side and presenting treatment plans. Mandy enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends, cooking, entertaining and going to the beach. Mandy and her husband are avid Maryland fans and Maryland Terrapin Club members and enjoy attending football and basketball games.
SADAF OFFICE MANAGER Sadaf has been apart of Dr. Yaldas team for over 4 years. Sadaf has worked in the dental field for over 10 years and enjoys interacting with patients and takes pride in ensuring that their financial aspects of their treatment are as efficient as possible. Sadafs primary goal is to have a friendly and trustworthy relationship with her patients and coworkers. In her free time, Sadaf enjoys traveling and learning about new cultures.
LORETO DENTAL ASSISTANT Loreto has been apart of Dr. Yaldas team for over 2 years. Loreto has experience in pediatric, general, and periodontal dentistry. Loreto is originally from South America Chile and helps our team to translate conversations for our Spanish speaking patients. Loreto currently resides in Frederick Maryland with her two wonderful children, husband and dog Papi. In Loretos spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and taking nice long walks.
DAWN DENTAL HYGIENIST Dawn has been apart of Dr. Yaldas team for over 3 years. Dawn is our full-time dental hygienist for our Gaithersburg MD location. Dawn takes pride in helping our patients achieve good oral health and educating on them on the strong link between oral health and the overall health of your body. Dawn enjoys spending time with her son and watching him play baseball. Dawn also enjoys cooking, reading, and taking trips to the beach.
