Your tooth consists of two main parts: the crown, which is the part of the tooth above the gum and visible in your mouth; and the root or roots, which is the part of the tooth that lies beneath the gum and is surrounded by bone. Inside each root is a channel that runs the length of the tooth. This channel is the root canal and contains the pulp (nerves, blood vessels, and soft tissue), which is often referred to as the nerve of the tooth. The pulp may be irreversibly damaged by bacteria associated with decay, very deep restorations, fractures, trauma, or periodontal disease.
In order to preserve a tooth in which this has occurred, it is necessary to remove the diseased pulp tissue. This procedure is known as endodontic therapy. Since endodontic therapy is concerned with removing only the pulp from the root canal, the root will continue to function normally because the supporting tissues remain intact. It is advisable to remove the injured pulp because it may become infected or act as an irritant to the tissues surrounding the tooth.
Dr. Bart Morrison was born in Brigham City, Utah. He attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah and following graduation he attended The University of Iowa College of Dentistry. After earning his DDS degree, Dr. Morrison completed his Endodontics speciality training and received a Masters degree from The State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr Morrison then entered into private practice in 1991.
Dr. Douglas Sutton was born in Pocatello, Idaho. He attended Idaho State University for his undergraduate education in Zoology. He is a Board-certified General Dentist who received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree from Creighton University in 1996. He did his residency for Endondontics at Tufts University in Boston, Massachussettes. He joined Dr. Bart Morrisons practice in 1998. He is a member of the American Association of Endodontics.
Dr. Val Bingham is an Idaho native born in Preston and raised in Dayton. He attended Ricks College and completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University. Dr. Bingham graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio with a Doctor of Dental Science degree. Following dental school, he attended residency at St. Louis University, where he received his Certificate in Endodontics and a Master of Science in Dental Research. Dr. Bingham entered private practice in Idaho Falls in 2006.
Dr. Hyde was born and raised in Northern Utah. He is an alumnus of Utah State where he received a degree in Spanish. He has continued that pursuit and is fluent in Spanish. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry and continued his education at OSU by receiving his Endodontics Certificate and Masters of Science in 2017.
Dr. Hyde has had his research published in the Journal of Endodontics, the leading journal in the specialty. He holds memberships with the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, and the Idaho State Dental Association.

I just got a root canal done yesterday, I was terrified! But they treated me so well and made me feel very comfortable! They made sure I had no pain at all! I also got a call from the doctor himself to see how I was doing, which I appreciate very much!!

I would give them 10 stars, If I could. I was on vacation in Jackson, Wyoming when my teeth decided to give me immense pain. I was trying to hold off until the end of my vacation but the pain was too great. Dr. Morrison and his team have an office in Jackson. They are only there once a week. Lucky for me it was the day I needed a root canal! For years my dentist was telling me it was just a sensitive tooth. I would flinch with any cold or hot liquid that hit that side of the mouth. I just handled it. Dr. Bart's team gave me a 2;00pm appointment. I told them I was in so much pain they moved me up to 10:30 am. To make a long story short I needed a root canal. The day after the procedure I could drink cold water and hot water without flinching. I had no swelling and my teeth are back to normal! Oh the simple things in life! What a great staff the Dr. has and the skill of Dr. Morrison. I wish he would move to my State! Thanks guys so much!

Dr. Morrison and staff are totally amazing. I had a apicoectomoy this morning. No pain at all even the abundant injections of novacain. Sent me home with everything I need to care for the surgery. He called me tonight to see how I was doing. Not a staff member he called himself. I totally recommend him and his staff. I was very impressed with the care I received. 10 thumbs-up.

I came from Salt Lake to have my root canal done by Bart Morrison. He cane highly recommended and it was worth the trip. I was very concerned going through my first root canal, but Barts practice is 100% first class. I was so impressed by their team and all new state of the art equipment. If you're scared like I was don't be, it was as pleasant of an experience as it could've been.

I just wanted to thank Dr. Morrison for his great care and expertise for my root canal. Some of the worst pain I've ever experienced has been in the dentist chair with other dentists. Ever go to the dentist, get a shot for pain, and have the dentist start in with the drill and say, "OK, tell me if this hurts... GIANT ZING...oh, did that hurt?" Dr. Morrison tested with some cold water instead, and gave me a second set of shots and more and guess what? It was fine :) He even called later that evening to see how I was doing! Who does that anymore? Small wonder he has so many glowing reviews. Here's one more.

I am beyond impressed with my entire experience with everyone on staff. This was not my first root canal, but Dr. Morrison performed the procedure way faster than expected. He checked in throughout to make sure I wasn't feeling anything, explained the process, and made sure I didn't have any concerns. I always appreciate a doctor who explains what's happening and I felt very confortable from start to finish. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and compassionate. Highly recommend!!
