After completing my undergraduate studiesat the University of Florida (Gators), I received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Maryland Dental School in 1993. I have been practicing Dentistry for the last twenty years in Greenbelt andPrince Frederick, Maryland.
Prior to dental school, I had spent my entire life in the DC Metropolitan area.After spending four years in New York City for dental school and another year in North Carolina for an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency, it was no question that I wanted to return to the area I call home.
During my years in New York City and North Carolina, I am thankful for having had the opportunity to learn from mentors and colleagues that have helped shape me into the dentist that I am today.My goal in this profession is to build a connection with my patients and see what their dental goals are and to do what I can to help them achieve those goals.
In my free time, I enjoy working out, watching sports (Go Caps!), playing guitar and singing, watching movies, and attending concerts.I also have a pet parrot who has been in my family since before I was born.
As a dentist I have been treating mypatients in theGreenbelt area since the year2000, and I still genuinely enjoy what I do every day! The friendships I've made with my patients and their families over the years mean a lot to me. It is my goal to always treat patients as if they are an extension of my own family.I can provide them with the highest quality of care and with acosmetic smile they will enjoy for years to come.
My undergraduate studies were in Biology and Chemistry at SUNY College at Brockport, NY and I received my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA in 2000. I enjoy spending time with my husband Ali and children, Niekon and Dustin.

It's my fault for continuing to attend this establishment, after my old dentist left some time ago. But that's just my forgiving and easy going nature, plus they are conveniently located to my residence, so I may have overlooked some red flags. The front office staff can be very rude for no good reason, and it seems that sometimes their only aim is to cancel Or reschedule your appointment so that they can charge you a fee. I have reason to believe they do this when they have overbooked patients or just want to leave early for the day. This has happened 3 different times now, and 3 strikes you're out. I won't even get started on the actual dentist. They have caused irreversible damage to my teeth, just out of poor technique/training. And they recommend extraneous work that isn't needed.

If I could rate less than one star I would! The front office staff needs to be trained on how to professionally deal with patients during this pandemic. You don't pre-screen patients while making appointments, allow them to come in for the appointment and then refuse service. My daughter was insulted and offended by their treatment. I would not recommend and will take my good insurance elsewhere!

Since the moment you enter the office you get a relaxed and welcoming environment from the nice aroma to the wonderful office design. Front desk and rest of the staff are very nice, kind And professional. The office is sparkling clean, everything is new and high end. It feels amazing to be there. And on top of that, Dr. Shakoori is an exceptional dentist. She is very professional, informative and takes her time sharing her knowledge so you know what you are getting treated for and that makes you feel relaxed and trust that you are in great hands. And of course, Dr. Shakoori and her staff always smiling sharing a joyful attitude. Totally recommend her. I am loving my experience at her place. Thank you!

Dr. Shakoori is the best!! I've been a patient of hers for several years, her and her staff are truly amazing. She takes care of me and my family, and even a few of my friends. Such an excellent quality and continuity of care. Her work is remarkable, and she has such a gentle bedside manner, making you feel extremely comfortable in the chair. Dr. Shakoori and her team are always on their game and I always enjoy visiting their practice. They are consistently friendly and genuinely concerned about my dental health.
