Dr. Yamusah received her dental degree from Columbia University's School of Dental Medicine in 1995 and a Masters in Public Health from Columbia Mailman School of Public Health. Dr. Yamusah completed general practice residencies at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine and North Central Bronx Hospital in Philadelphia in 1996 where she had first call duties in the treatment of head and neck trauma, Emergency Medicine and Dental care for Special Needs Patients. In 1997, Dr. Yamusah received an Oral Surgery fellowship from Temple University Hospital. Returning to NYC in 1998 to complete an Infectious Disease fellowship at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital, while working in conjunction with the NYC Department of Health. Dr. Yamusah also worked at St. Christopher's Children's Hospital, a level one Trauma Center, in Philadelphia.
Dr. Yamusah is a member in good standing with the American Dental Association, the American Academy of General Dentistry, the West Michigan Dental Society, and she also holds the hospital and admitting privileges at Metro Health Hospital, Mercy Health Hospital and Spectrum Health Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Heather is the friendly face at the front desk as well as our Office Coordinator. She is always willing to help with any questions or concerns you may have. Heather graduated from an accredited Dental Assisting program in 2002 and has just celebrated one year at Burton Dental Associates. She enjoys spending more time with her family this year, especially her new grandchild born in October. With two Dobermans named Stella and Lucy, and a very close family, she is looking forward to what is to come for the new year.
Sara joined our practice in August 2020. She is a graduate of GRCCs 2005 dental hygiene program. Patient comfort during your hygiene visit is Saras first priority. She loves educating our patients while helping them reach their oral health goals. Outside of work, Sara enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. You can also find her thrift shopping, jogging and exploring the great state of Michigan.
Sylvia is one of our Spanish speaking staff members and billing specialist. She has assisted our doctor chairside over the past three years. She is always ready to help with your questions or concerns. Her dedication to providing comfortable dental care, patient education and communicating the most complex dental procedure is her specialty.
Steph, she prides herself in making patients feel like family in our office. She always has a smile on her face and enjoys talking with our patients to make them comfortable. She is married to her high school sweetheart and they have two beautiful little girls. She loves to spend time with family, travel and play with her two Australian dogs named Shadow and Jaxx.
Maria Graduated from an accredited school of dental assisting and has been with our office since 2019. She helps assist Dr. Yamusah throughout the day always makes sure our patients leave with a great experience. Maria also enjoys teaching every patient about their oral health as well as helping translate in Spanish! In her spare time, she looks forward to crafting, cooking, traveling and loves spending time with her son.
