Celebrating StayWells 50th Anniversary has prompted us to retrace our health centers trailblazing history of providing needed healthcare to an increasing number of Greater Waterbury residents. It is truly remarkable how a small program started in 1972 as a part of the national Model Cities Initiative, has grown into a critical pillar of healthcare in the region.

Each year StayWell sees 26,000 patients, including nearly 4,000 who are uninsured. All patients are provided essential healthcare regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay for services in advance. A sliding fee scale is available for those who qualify, but unpaid balances can often discourage patients from accessing the care they need. It is incumbent upon StayWell to raise funds to supplement the discounts provided and absorb the unpaid balances in order to eliminate this barrier to care.

StayWell Health Center is introducing and will be raising funds to start a Patient Care Fund. This fund will uniquely benefit individual patients and StayWell as an organization at the same time. This process will maximize the impact of your contribution for an individual and at an organizational level.

Over the last 50 years, we have positively impacted the lives of many in our StayWell community. We have been honored as a trusted caregiver, inspired by your journeys, and encouraged through expressions of gratitude. Together we have laughed, cried, and been frustrated, but have always remained hopeful for a healthier community.

Give Local April 26-27th, 2022StayWell will once again be participating in the Give Local Fundraiser sponsored by the Connecticut Community Foundation. This 2-day online give-a-thon allows for many opportunities to support, double funds, and donate at strategic times to give StayWell an increased chance of winning bonus cash prizes to include in our total amount raised.

50th Anniversary Fete September 16th, 2022La Bella Vista, Waterbury, CTJoin StayWell for an elevated BBQ that takes advantage of the joys still to be found in a Summers End evening. Festivities will include music, raffles, silent auction, and reminiscing. Tickets to go on sale starting in July.

1st Annual World AIDS Day Gala December 2022As a long time provider of healthcare and case management to the LGBTQ community, StayWell will recognize World AIDS Day and honor the lives of amazing survivors. This premier event will draw from the LGBTQ community of Connecticut and include live music, dancing, contests and more. Tickets to go on sale starting in October.

Over the last 50 years, StayWell has touched the lives of thousands of people from patients, to staff and community members.
