Dr. JahnShahi has been a part time clinical faculty at the New York University Department of Orthodontics since 2008 and he has recently joined the Mount Sinai Department of Dental Medicine in pursuit or serving the underprivileged youth of New York city through the Adolescent Health Center located in East Harlem.

Dr. Anne Chan-Ly is a native New Yorker, she was born in NYC and raised in Brooklyn. She has been a dentist for over 14 years. After graduating from Stony Brook University Dental School she spent a few years practicing general dentistry before returning to further her education at New York University Dental School, specializing in Orthodontics. On completion of her specialty she completed her board certification through the American Board of Orthodontics. She has additional training from Jacobi Hospital focusing on Orthognathic Surgery Orthodontics, treating cases with skeletal deformities. In her spare time she loves to travel.

Dr. Chan-Ly is meticulous, detailed oriented and doesn't leave any stone unturned regarding dental care. She also couples her professionalism and talent with a sincere care for her patients. My daughter was 3 years old when she started to see Dr. Chan-Ly. She was so nervous and scared looking at all the sharp dental tools, Dr. Chan-Ly was able to comfort her and give her a full exam with a cleaning too. I highly recommend her for any dental needs. She is dedicated to her patients and you won't find a more kind and caring orthodontist!

I Love Dr. Anne Chan-Ly she's awesome she cares about her patients take her time doing her work you don't ever feel like she's rushing to finish. In just a short period of time that she's been working on me I had so much progress that my previous doctor did not do in such a longer time, over all she's great to be around and be under her care !!!! By the way this is my first time doing a review but I had to do it for her cus I want people to know that she's GREAT !

I feel very fortunate to have Dr. Chan-Ly as my son's orthodontist. She has been re-aligning my son's cross-bite in preparation for double jaw surgery. Over the year he has been seeing her, she has been the most caring, patient and detail-oriented professional. At each visit, she takes the time to answer our many questions and to show me the progress of my son's bite and jaw movement. He has not had any problems during or in between visits as she is careful to attach and adjust every wire and hook on his braces to ensure he is as pain-free as possible. My son has been to three other orthodontists over the years as he has had extensive dental issues, and I would rate Dr. Chan-Ly as my first choice!

Working with Dr.Chan-ly has been such a great experience! Dr. Chan-ly really does love her job and goes above and beyond. I was panicking days before my surgery and was ready to quit. Something told me to call Dr.Chan-ly and I am grateful that I did. She gave me encouraging words and said whatever I decide, that it is ok. There was no pressure and she has been very supportive throughout the process.To say the least, I had my jaw surgery and it was a success! Attentive, friendly and kind. Everything a kid or anyone could want out of their dentist. Our son was naturally apprehensive about getting braces but Dr. Chan has helped him gain confidence. He knows it will be a simple, pleasant experience. And of course, his teeth are now all aligned!

Not going to lie I had pretty bad teeth as well as an overbite. It affected not only how I looked but also how I felt. After seeing 4 other orthodontists to get opinions for my son's Ortho procedure, I certainly felt Dr. Chan-Ly was most thorough with helping me understand the approach and procedures that was needed. While the other orthodontists had suggested similar procedures, I felt they were providing a generic procedure that they would for kids with similar issues because they were quick to talk about what are next steps after reviewing the X-rays. Two of the orthodontists didn't even point out one of the issues he had. Dr. Chan-Ly took her time to review and explain and it certainly gave me a comfort level of having her work on my son. Any my son is always happy and at ease everytime we are see Dr. Chan-Ly! Thank you for everything!

My son's teeth was not erupting. While we had seen a general dentist but she said to wait patiently but never gave me a timeline. I grew worried and had waited over a year and still no signs of growth. The dentist didn't even tell me how long it will be. Then, I then went to Dr. Anne chan-Ly who spent a long time to explain to me. She was thorough on her investigation. She took time to image the teeth before making treatment options. She asked detailed questions, like if my son had any accidents preventing the teeth from erupting. Needless to say, two weeks later, my son teeth came through after she took care of us. Now my son is smiling with the tooth that finally came through.
