Worst experience I've ever had with a dentist. She charged thousands upfront for a dental procedure that she never completed. She said she would refund the cost I paid so I could get the work completed elsewhere but she never did. She left me with two extracted teeth and two teeth filed down in an attempt to do a 4 tooth bridge. Then she couldn't complete the bridge. I have basically been missing 4 teeth in a row for years. It's severely affected my social life because I'm embarrassed to be seen missing a row of teeth. It's also affected my chewing ability to the point I've been hospitalized twice to remove large pieces of food I accidentally swallowed. It was 2 emergency surgeries to remove large pieces of food trapped in my esophagus. She speaks very kindly and makes an abundance of excuses but I've since seen three other dentists that confirmed her procedure has caused the problems. Years later I have now gotten crowns for the teeth she filed away but due to the expensive of dental work, i'm still missing two teeth in a row and humiliated to go out socially. During her extraction process she also chipped away bone fragments in my jaw and they have made their way to protruding through my gums. My current dentist is baffled by the bony protrusions which are very painful and recommends a dental surgery of my gums to remedy that problem if possible. Of course, insurance doesn't cover dental surgeries. I went into her office, followed her recommendations, I paid over $3,000 upfront and trusted her with my teeth. I left in terrible pain, she couldn't complete the procedure, she shattered some tiny jaw bones, my self confidence is ruined, I've had two emergency medical surgeries to remove food trapped in my esophagus, I've paid over $4,000 dollars to crown two teeth snd still facing $10,000 surgical implants and don't even have a quote to correct the tiny pointed bones protruding from my gums. A simple procedure has turned into a nightmare and the I've been personally responsible to pay in excess of $34,000 so far due to her negligence. I still have constant pain due to the bone fragments/nerve damage and ashamed to go in public. I still have additional gum surgeries upcoming and I have no idea what they will find. On the other hand, she won't even refund the mere few thousand dollars that she charged upfront to do this to me. She needs to be reported to the dental board. This has taken away years of my life and a tremendous financial burden.

She charged thousands upfront for a bridge and was unable to complete the work. She offered a refund but never returned the money. She was aware that I'm on Social Security and couldn't afford to pay another dentist to do the work correctly and simply left me without a 4 tooth bridge. After 3 years, I still haven't been able to pay another dentist to do a bridge and have been miserable basically missing 4 molars in a row. There were other mistakes, complications with her and her staff. She also would not treat me after I experienced pain from her work. She claimed a dental procedure couldn't cause facial pain. I had to see another physician who quickly diagnosed it as trigeminal nerve pain from her procedure and began immediate treatment. A patient should never be left with untreated nerve pain and certainly shouldn't be left with major dental work incomplete after she was paid in full. It's unethical, especially considering the cost. The money should have been refunded or she could have arranged another dentist to complete the work. Everything was highly unprofessional.

I am very fearful of dentists, but Dr. Howell put my fears to rest. She was very matter of fact with issues about my teeth, and I did not feel like I was being sold on unnecessary treatments. The office and staff were down to earth and made me feel comfortable.
