Angelo Ostuni, DDS MD, is a board certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. He is a graduate of Columbia Universitys College of Dental Medicine and completed a six-year Oral Surgery program at the New York Presbyterian Hospital (Columbia University Campus).
He completed his residency in 2008 and served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Columbia University until 2009. Dr. Ostuni continued training in Italy as a surgical research Fellow at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan and worked as a surgeon at Ostuni MD Center for Plastic Surgery in the beautiful region of Puglia in southern Italy. After returning to New York he has been an associate surgeon in a multi-doctor group practice and working on building and developing Carnegie Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
Carnegie Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is a brand new, state of the art, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery practice committed to the pursuit of surgical and patient care excellence. The practice was established in December 2015 by Dr. Angelo Ostuni after nearly a decade of practice spanning two continents and two of the best places to live in the world: vibrant NYC and beautiful Italy!
We aim to provide our patients and referring doctors with the highest quality of oral & maxillofacial surgery services including dental & wisdom teeth extractions, IV-sedation, dental implantology and advanced bone grafting, corrective jaw surgery, treatment of facial trauma, Botox cosmetics, impacted tooth exposure & repositioning, TMJ treatments and oral pathology. The office is equipped with state of the art technology including digital radiography and a 3D-Cone Beam CT.
Located in the Rodin Building at 200 West 57th Street the practice design was carefully curated, drawing inspiration from the grand institutions surrounding us: Carnegie Hall, majestic Central Park and Columbus Circle. While we have no affiliation with Carnegie Hall, the name of our practice is clearly inspired by our illustrious neighbor and the office design utilizes a mixture of materials to draw internally the structural beauty of our Landmark building and the changing architectural landscape of West 57th Street. Glass doors, a delicate color palette and LED lighting allow the creation of a luminous and non-threatening environment.

Dr.Ostuni and his staff are an AMAZING!!!!!!!!Team. My twin sister saw Dr.Ostuni last week for a bad infection in her tooth. Genesis who is the young man at the front desk who answers the phone is very professional not to mention such a very NICE!!! guy. I called regarding her tooth and he booked her appointment and we were seen the same day. She was VERY nervous and in pain but Dr.Ostuni eased her anxiety and calm her down and told her she will be taken care of.Well the tooth extraction was done and right now today my sister is smiling and happy and back to her old self again. Dr.Ostuni is the BEST!!!!!!!! by far and I would never go to anyone but him for an extraction. If you are reading this DON'T look any further call the office right now if you need any dental procedure that he offers. You are in Great hands and in Safe hands.

It was a pleasure to work with this kind, honest and empathetic staff. I was floored by Dr. Ostuni's kindness, humor, follow-through, follow-up and patience. In short, a very negative experience had a bright side. I'd rather my teeth stay in my mouth...but, if they don't - I know where I'm going.

I had my upper wisdom removal with Dr. Ostuni. I never had any dental surgeries before, so I was very anxious and afraid. Dr. and his assistant made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole procedure. He is very professional, attentive, and careful. After the procedure, he texted me the following day and was available any time if i needed anything. Thank you Dr. Ostuni, Iris (his assistant) and Alex the front desk guy, for all the help and great work!

I saw Dr Ostuni for a tooth extraction. Modern office, professional staff, and Dr Ostuni has the best bedside manner I have experienced so far. He is warm, comforting, and took the time to explain the procedure before it started. The entire experience was quick, easy, and the recovery has been great. Highly recommended!

I cannot recommend Dr. Ostuni and his team highly enough - they are super nice and professional and provide a clear idea of what to expect with any procedure. They are available for questions and even texts for follow ups. Getting a tooth extracted is not ideal of course, but they make the process as good as possible. Nice offices too. Super clean and Covid safe.

Dr. Ostuni and his staff are very kind and attentive. Their offices are clean and modern as well. Dr. Ostuni took the entire consultation to talk to me about my wisdom teeth and what the plan for extraction. They provided me a billing summary at the time of consultation so that I knew what to expect and what would be covered. They also had a ton of availability for scheduling the surgery so I got my preferred day based on my work schedule. Overall would highly recommend his office.

I put off getting my wisdom teeth extracted for 20+ years - that's how much I really didn't want to do this surgery. All four of my wisdom teeth were impacted in the bone in some way, and I have a small mouth. So getting those teeth cut out of my jaw didn't really appeal to me at all. I finally had a month off from work (lost my only excuse - no time, can't be away from work) and figured I should probably get them taken care of before something really goes wrong. The entire experience at Carnegie was outstanding. The front office staff was pleasant and very on top of it, providing cost estimates and confirming insurance coverage. They went above and beyond when I had an issue with the insurance pre-authorization and clearly had my best interests in mind. Perhaps more importantly, Dr. Ostuni is an amazing oral surgeon. I'm someone who is highly analytical and a bit of a control freak; I've had some pretty unpleasant experiences with poor quality dental professionals, so for something as invasive as oral surgery I was especially apprehensive. Dr. Ostuni put me completely at ease and helped me arrive at a decision for the surgery in which I felt 100% confident. He's a straight shooter, very analytical, and provides solid recommendations that are backed up with reasoning that he very clearly shared with me. He didn't mince words and didn't sugar coat things, which I really appreciated. At my initial consultation and again on the day of surgery, Dr. Ostuni laid out all of my x-rays and walked me through his entire thought process, so I felt very comfortable that he had thought through all of the potential options, as well as the pros and cons of each, before arriving at a well-reasoned conclusion. He also very clearly laid out all of the potential risks, benefits, and potential outcomes, so I knew exactly what to expect (and what not to expect). We ultimately settled on a plan to extract the top left and do a coronectomy on the bottom left wisdom tooth, while leaving the right side alone. Then came the execution of the actual surgery. I got general anesthesia as recommended by Dr. Ostuni, and I was literally in and out in 45 minutes. I woke up with two fewer wisdom teeth and no pain whatsoever. It was clear that Dr. Ostuni knew exactly what he was doing, given how quickly and smoothly the process went. He even ended up extracting the tooth that we originally earmarked for coronectomy, which is an unexpectedly better outcome than we had planned going in. Post-op, Dr. Ostuni was always only a phone call or text away, and answered all of my questions and concerns with a prompt, to-the-point response. His confidence and clarity of response put me at ease, and he did not steer me wrong. I had absolutely zero complications and a pretty easy recovery from what I thought would be a seemingly traumatic extraction surgery. It almost doesn't feel like enough to say that I recommend Carnegie and Dr. Ostuni wholeheartedly. While I hope I never have to get any more oral surgery, I take comfort in the fact that if ever I do, I'll be in very good hands with this team. Thank you Dr. Ostuni and team!!

I went to Dr. Ostuni to have my wisdom teeth removed I had a great experience with him and his staff. I felt completely informed every step of the way. I had a clotting issue and when I called them about it they were able to see me the same day. Dr. Ostuni was also available via text to answer any questions I had. Would definitely recommend!

I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Ostuni's office. After consulting with Dr. Ostuni over concerns about nerve sensitivity relating to wisdom teeth removal, he was able to share with me alternative procedures that essentially removed all concerns about nerve damage. The office is very Covid-conscious with the vast majority of check-in is done online. Most importantly following my procedure, I had no pain at all and I was shocked at how quickly and how well I healed. Would absolutely recommend Dr. Ostuni to anyone.
