Her private practice experience began in Nairobi where she worked in one of the premier dental offices. She has since worked with pediatric patients in clinics in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Minneapolis, Inver Grove Heights, and Rosemount and currently at Dr. Angela Wandera and Associates in Eden Prairie, where her patients continue to be her source of joy and inspiration.
She has privileges at Childrens Hospital of Minnesota, is Board Certified in Pediatric Dentistry, and has specific interest and clinical experience in orthodontics and the growth and development of the child and adolescent patient.
Her work in teaching and academics includes the University of Nairobi, University of Minnesota, University of Missouri Kansas City, University of Michigan, and currently, Hennepin HealthCare Pediatric Dentistry, mentoring future Pediatric Dentistry specialists.
Dr. Wandera has been appointed to Editorial Boards in Pediatric Dentistry and Journal of Dentistry for Children both key journals of the specialty. She has contributed to numerous professional courses as an invited speaker and has authored multiple scholarly articles. She is the recipient of professional and literary awards and has been nominated to local and national Top and Best Dentist rosters.
Dr. Wandera currently maintains membership with the Minnesota and American Dental Associations, as well as the Minnesota and American Associations of Orthodontics and the Minnesota and American Academies of Pediatric Dentistry. She has continued to develop her knowledge and skills by attending professional education courses regularly.

After trying a few pediatric dentists I found Dr. Wandera. She was so personable and knowledgeable! She has a warm personality and my children just love her! My sons smile has completely transformed into a beautiful wide smile. I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Wandera and her team!

I have visited Dr Wandera & Associates 2 times with my children. Both times my children had a wonderful experience. Everyone was nice, polite, courteous, and extremely professional. The receptionist is very friendly, the dental hygienist was very polite, and Dr. Wandera is amazing! I would definitely recommend this office!

I was told they didn't accept my insurance and then was denied paying in cash.. very disappointed. With such a good reputation, you'd think it would be wanted across the board...

Dr. Wandera and her team and absolutely AMAZING!!! My daughter had a traumatic experience at a different dentist and I thought I would never be able to get her to go back but Dr. Wandera and Jen worked miracles with her and now she even likes going to their office! They also see my 2-year old. He has already had fairly major work done for his age and they've done it all in their office. I can't believe how good they are with him. They seriously amaze me every time we go! Anyone who takes care of your babies like their own is a gift. If I could give them 10 I would!!!

Dr. Wandera has taken care of both of my daughters orthodontic and dentistry needs. I am writing this review in order to thank her publicly for her caring and professional work. My youngest daughter had a difficult procedure done and Dr. Wandera led her through it calmly and my daughter was supported to be her best and most brave self. My oldest was so proud of her teeth and the hygiene practices that Dr. Wandera taught her. I always feel educated and knowledgable about all of the care they receive. I thank Dr. Wandera and her staff for being the best dentistry staff.

Dr. Wandera is an exceptional orthodontist and dentist! Years with her have proven to be so positive. Her office staff are excellent. Very welcoming and outstanding personal care. We recommend Dr. Wandera whole heartedly.

Dr Wandera is not a very friendly doctor. This was my first experience being asked to wait out of the room while a dentist (or anyone) examined my children. Mind you my children were 5 and 7 yo and they were new patience. If she was their regular dentist, I wouldn't mind. But that was the first time we ever saw her. I understand the examination room was small, but she was acting like I was a nuisance. I was a petite lady; in no way I occupied that much space. The 2nd time around, Dr Wandera told me she saw a cavity in one of my children's tooth and schedule my daughter for filling. I questioned it because I couldn't see it; but she told me I may not see it yet, but the cavity was there. I thought if I couldn't see it yet, and it wasn't even permanent tooth, there's no reason to do anything about it. Three years later, my daughter is now with different dentist and I have never been told she has cavity/needed any procedure besides routine X-rays. Just thought of doing the review after reading a news about dentist doing unnecessary procedure

If you ignore the billing issues you would face, this is a good place for kids dental. Surprise fees, not taking into consideration insurance coverage, and many more other issues ....

She is an exceptional dentist & orthodontist. Her attention to detail, thoroughness, and keeping current on the latest research, make her an expert you can trust. She presents her observations, multiple perspectives in the field, her clinical opinion, and then solicits patient & parent preferences. She does not insist or demand you do something, but rather she presents what she can see, showing imaging and models when needed, fully explaining the details, and then allows the patient & parents to choose the course. Rare is it to find a Dentist as compitent, skilled, and removed from ego. The only negative is that she doesn't take adult patients.

Dr. Wandera is amazing and wonderful with kids! My son had his first ever dentist appointment today, and she made it fun for him and put him at ease. I don't think he wanted to leave. Highly recommend!
