Dr. Velazquez graduated cum laude with a Bachelor Degree in Biology in 1995 from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. In 1999, he obtained his cum laude Dental Medical Doctor degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Dentistry, where obtained honor awards and scholarships and graduated in the top five percent of his class.
In 1999, Dr. Velazquez continued a General Practice Residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center. After finishing his residency, Dr. Velazquez practiced as an associate in several offices in the Miami-Dade area before starting his own practice in Coral Gables in 2000.
Dr. Velazquez completed over 100 hours of continuing education in dental implant surgery at the Robert Morgan School and in 2004 completed 144 hours at the Miami Implant Dentistry Continuum, perfecting the specialty of Surgical Implant Placement.
Dr. Velazquez also has completed a year of Continue Education Studies at Robert Morgan School in the specialty of Endodontics (root canals). He is a Graduate from Progressive Orthodontics Seminars and a graduate from the advanced studies in Dentofacial Orthodontics. Other studies include, Cosmetic Dentistry, Veneers, Invisalign, Nitrous Oxide Conscious Sedation, Cerec Crowns, Periodontics, Botox, Sleep Dentistry.
Dr. Velazquez and his staff always work very hard to learn how to best serve their patients that call AVM Dentistry their Dental Home. He is the President and Director of AVM Dental Assistant School in Coral Gables, FL.

I've had the good fortune of having Dr Velazquez as my dentist for a long time. He has taken care of my entirely family even putting me through braces. He has done root canals and crowns, cleaning, you name it. We trust his work and his advice completely and all of his work has been outstanding. We highly recommend!

I have been a patient of Dr. Velazquez for over five years. In all of those years, he and his staff have always brought the utmost quality of patient care. Their overall professionalism and attentiveness alleviates the angst and stress sometimes associated with dental visits. After my visits, I always walk away feeling that I have been given quality care. I highly recommend Dr. Velazquez.

I needed to get my front teeth evened out and the colors right. I had a couple of different dentists working in the past and you could see the unevenness. My smile is everything and I wasn't sharing my smile like I wanted to. I was a dinner with friends and I noticed something different but i could quite place until he told me about Dr. Velezquez and his new veneers. I made an appointment and I have the most beautiful new natural looking smile. Dr. Velezquez was concerned about all the things I was, color, size, etc. If you are thinking about any dental AVM is the place to go.

For over the last 11 years Dr Fernandez has provided my we the highest level of service. He truly cares to satisfy my dental needs and fosters preventive dental care. His office staff is friendly and the technology used to coordinate visits is second to none.
