From a very young age, Dr. Andrew Harner was raised in Orange County. He attended the University of California, Irvine (UCI) where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. After working for a state-of-the-art medical device company and obtaining a Masters degree from Boston University, he returned to California to attend dental school at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). After graduating, Dr. Harner completed an additional three years of training at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco, (UCSF) specializing in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. In addition to obtaining his specialty certification at UCSF, Dr. Harner obtained a second Masters Degree in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences. He was in private practice in the San Francisco Bay area before returning to southern California and establishing his private practice in Huntington Beach.
Dr. Harner has done extensive research in tissue engineering, tissue derived anticoagulants, dental adhesive systems, and three-dimensional craniofacial imaging strategies resulting in publications in professional journals. He has also lectured to dental professionals on multidisciplinary orthodontic treatment. He is currently the President of the California Association of Orthodontists (CAO) and has served on the Board of Directors for both the CAO and Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists. He has been voted by his peers as a Top Dentist in Orange County every year since 2009.
Dr. Harner enjoys being back in Orange County and being involved in various community and civic activities such as sponsoring local schools, sports teams, arts programs and organizing various charity events. Whether its canned food drives to benefit the SOS Clinic, Toys for Tots toy drives toensure all children have toys at Christmas and Halloween Candy Buy Back where the candy collected from our patients is sent to troops overseas, Dr. Harner always enjoys helping others. Dr. Harner is passionate about his work and loves spending time with his wife, two sons, and daughter. His hobbies include running, reading, surfing, cooking, and of course, having fun at the beach.
