Dr. Evelyn Nord grew up on a family farm in Clinton, IL where she was heavily involved in FFA and 4-H. Through showing cattle, she met her husband, Keith England, a farmer in Oneida, IL. Dr. Nord completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana with honors majoring in Integrative Biology and a minor in Chemistry.
Dr. Nord attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Dental Medicine in Alton, IL where she graduated magna cum luade and received multiple awards for excellence in dentistry (the Deans scholarship, Humanitarian Award, J.R. Schmidt Award for excellence in restorative dentistry, AES Occlusion and TMD, and was inducted as a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon the national dental honor society.) She took an active role as president of the Christian Medical Dental Society, and held various offices with the Delta Sigma Delta Fraternity and the American Association for Women Dentists.
During her 2nd year at dental school, Dr. Nord and Keith married. Long distance was difficult, but well worth the wait in the end. Upon graduation, Dr. Nord moved to Galesburg, IL to be with her husband. In July of 2018 they welcomed their first daughter into the world, Genevieve. Then they were blessed with another beautiful girl, Gwendolyn in June of 2020 amidst the pandemic. After working for a couple of years, Dr. Nord decided she wanted to purchase a practice in Peoria. Things solidified and Dr. Nord started here late 2020.
Dr. Nord is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Illinois State Dental Society and the Academy of GP Orthodontics.Dr. Nord has also completed her Associate Fellowship with the Academy of GP Orthodontics and is excited to now offer this new service for patients!
Family is extremely important to Dr. Nord and she spends most of her free time with her daughters, Genevieve and Gwendolyn. She also enjoys singing, playing piano or guitar, and attending cattle shows with her husband, Keith.
Dr. Nord is extremely compassionate and loves to help in any way she can. She especially enjoys working with children. Our office is an excellent choice for the nervous patient or someone who needs a little extra care.
After his first year of dental school he married his college sweetheart Teresa and swept her off to Chicago and dental school. He graduated from U of I in 1993. While there he enjoyed extracurricular studies in sports dentistry where he worked with both the UIC basketball and hockey teams.
School was great, but life after was much better. Receiving 1 of 11 scholarships from the United States Army, Dr. Anderson was off to North Carolina where he served for 3 years as a dental officer at Fort Bragg. While there, he was with the 82nd Airborne Division and enjoyed earning his jump wings. During his time at Fort Bragg he gained much experience from his daily schedule and other colleagues and specialists. Dr. Anderson was also blessed in another way while there. Their first child Madlin was born in 1994 and she was a wonderful gift from God. Even though North Carolina was beautiful, they did miss family and friends back in Illinois. So in 1996, Dr. Anderson returned to Illinois where he practiced dentistry in Bloomington/Normal. Three years went by quickly and their family was blessed a second time in 1997 with their son Chad.
Its hard to believe their children have grown up so fast. Madlin graduated from Southern Illinois Universityat Edwarsville(SIUE) and has started her own family with Alex Milstead. Dr. Anderson and his wife have been blessed again with a granddaughter, Elli. Chad split up his college work at ICC, the University of Missouri (MIZZOU), and Illinois State University.
Dr. Andersons last move has been the best. It was to Peoria in 1999 after Dr. Miller went into retirement and he gladly took over Dr. Millers half of the practice. Dr. Anderson and Dr. Evelyn Nord are now partners and share the same love of dentistry. He feels extremely blessed to work with so many nice people over the years. Many of which he has worked with for more than twenty years.
The staff and the patients have become his second family. Dr. Anderson enjoys the variety of general dentistry, fillings, cosmetic dentistry, crown and bridge, implants, root canals, Invisalign, and oral surgery. He also has enjoyed being the team dentist for the Peoria Pirates football team and the Peoria Rivermen Hockey team. He was a member of Peoria Downtown Rotary for many years, is a member of the American Dental Society, the Illinois Dental Society, the Peoria District Dental Society, and the Academy for Sports Dentistry. Dr. Anderson was honored to serve as the President of the Peoria District Dental Society from 2014-2015. He also serves on the Illinois Central College Dental Hygiene Advisory Board, and also served on the Peoria City/County Public Health Board.
Another of his big interests is being part of Living Waters Church. A mission church that is near and dear to his heart. A church where all are invited. You may even see him singing in the praise band. In 2015, he and his daughter Madlin went on a dental mission trip to Jamaica. It was very hard work, but also very rewarding.
Dr. Andersons love of dentistry and the devotion to his patients are second to none. He loves sharing humorous stories, jokes, riddles, and trivia with patients and they love telling him stories too. He believes in putting his patients first and that he is here for them and to serve them. Making his patients smile and caring about their overall happiness matters a great deal to him. If you are looking for a caring office where you are respected and treated like a friend, then come see us. Dr. Anderson always welcomes new patients.
