'Education is the foundation for excellence, which is a principle of mine, and of this practice. Delivering complete, professional service wouldn 't be possible without my educational experience, both past and continuing. I know it 's the key for my being able to provide each and every patient with the kind of dentistry they derserve.'

'There are always new dental techniques and treatments that can make your smile more beautiful and your care more comfortable. My membership in professional organizations allows me to meet with fellow professionals and learn about the latest innovations. This helps me provide you with up-to-date care.'

'My commitment to this community isn 't merely as a dentist, but also a concerned involved citizen. I live here and am involved in many different organizations and projects. I feel completely invested in Cockeysville, both professionally and personally. The people are my reward.'

He started his practice in his house and moved it to its present location in 1985. Dr. Vendelis and Sophia raised three children and have eight grand-children. When Dr. Vendelis is not creating smiles, or spending time with his family he can be found at any of the local golf courses. He works with his daughter Anastasia and hopes that one day he will see a grandchild working in the office!

'To me dentistry is an art that must be crafted to each individuals hopes and desires. I listen to every patient and use a delicate, artistic touch to create a wonderful smile that reflects who they are. This has been my mission since day one, and it has helped many area residents discover just how beautiful and brilliant their smiles can be.'

Dr. William J. Evans, an Eastern Shore native, grew up in Salisbury, Md. and graduated from James M. Bennett High School. He subsequently attended Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and received his Bachelor of Arts in Natural Sciences in 1975. Dr. Evans then graduated from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, Dental School, University of Maryland in 1979. While in dental school Dr. Evans was elected to the Gorgas Odontological Dental Honor Society. After graduation, Dr. Evans served as a dental officer (Lt.) in the US Navy in Charleston, S.C. He was a staff dentist at the Navy Regional Dental Center, Charleston and also served as the ship's dentist and divisionofficer aboard US Canopus AS-34, a submarine tender. While in the Navy, Dr. Evans received advanced training in the managementof medically compromised patients. Dr. Evans joined Dr. Andrew Vendelis in private practice in 1983. They moved to their present location in Cockeysville in 1995.

'Each patient I see is an individual with needs that are unique. Patients feel reassured by my solid background and years of experience, but I always keep in mind that even routine procedures are usually new to my patients. So I always take the time necessary to explain everything in a way that my patients can understand.' ' I try to make thier dental procedures as comfortable as possible, and hopefully educate as well. I like to think that our patients are more then just patients: that they are members of our 'family' and also their friends.'

'I believe healthy smiles start with compassion and comfort. I love coming to work and being given the oppurtunity to form relationships with my patients. I believe this time is necessary to understand and care for them. I really want to get a handle on their individual needs and their expectations of me. Its equally important that the people I care for understand their treatment completely. I care about the entire person, not just their dental treatment. I love my patients, they are what makes coming to work so awesome, they are my friends. ' Dr. Vendelis feels that her background in Psychology helps her to accomplish these goals. 'During college, I had to create behavior modifications programs for fellow students. They had to choose a behavior they wanted to change or learn. I created a plan and helped them achieve their goal. This is very similar in what I do today, I develop a treatment plan and help my patient accomplish their goals, whether I am creating a beautiful smile or encouraging someone to floss.'

Balancing an accomplished career and active family life has given Dr. Vendelis the ability to relate to her patients with warmth, compassion and candor. Visit Dr. Anastasia Vendelis, and discover dentistry designed with you in mind.

Great hygienists and front receptionist. I had a similar experience an another reviewer here. All of a sudden I had cavities on top and bottom molars on one side? I should've gotten another opinion. I let her drill and fill away. The bite took weeks to adjust (I had to go back) and was so painful. And I'm not convinced any of it really needed to be done. Lesson learned. The final reason I left-I had my oral surgeon remove a failing baby tooth and put in an implant. Dr. Vendelis told me she didn't see the post, didn't think he actually put the implant in. She had me worried. I returned to the oral surgeon, where I learned many surgeons leave the implant post under the gum to avoid food getting caught, until it's time for the crown; then they open the gym to expose the post. ADDITIONALLY, my oral surgeon's staff had sent Dr. Vendelis paperwork, a copy of the X-ray, and the little piece she'd need to implement the crown. She had it ALL ALONG and hadn't bothered to read my chart or see the correspondence and piece needed that she already had in her possession. The oral surgeon's nurse couldn't believe it and said she'd think long and hard about trusting her as my dentist. I agreed. We left the practice.

I've been going to Dr. Vendelis (both father and daughter) for over thirty years and have never been disappointed with their work. None of my fillings have ever fallen out and I've had the same cap for nearly twenty years.

Doctor(s) Vendelis are scam artists. I have been cavity-free for over twenty years, every dentist I've ever visited both before and after Vendelis have told me that my teeth are very clean and that there was nothing wrong. When I was visiting Cockeysville Dentist (where they practice) they would poke and prod at my gums until they bled and cause me terrible pain that lasted days. They drilled about 7-8 cavities in a month's time that had supposedly shown up overnight and told me that I have gingivitis and needed serious treatment. I constantly felt like I was being scolded for what was in my mouth to the point where it was uncomfortable. I mention all of this because after the "first set of cavities" were drilled I left for another dentist, who said I show no signs of gingivitis and that my gums were fine, and that there were NO CAVITIES in my teeth. I didn't believe the dentist and asked to see the X-Ray and sure enough, nothing. I couldn't believe that the dentists at Cockeysville Dentist had wanted to do more drilling!! I wish I had never gone there, as now, the teeth that they drilled into are always sensitive and often hurt. My teeth have never felt the same as they did before the Vendelis' hacked away at them.

I have been a patient of Dr. Anastasia Vendelis for over 15 years. I think that fact already states how pleased I have been with her professional skills and compassionate manor. I do regular check-ups and cleaning and have never been disappointed with the care I've received from Dr. Vendelis and from the wonderful staff which includes the "gentle" hygienists to the kind, knowledgeable ladies in the office. They are friendly, take time to answer questions, and are very efficient. When more specific dental problems have come up, Dr. Vendelis is always there to refer or recommend a dental specialist for me. I have every confidence in recommending Dr. Anastasia Vendelis and the staff at the Greenside Drive office!
