I would not recommend this place as they tried to convince me that I needed a 4 hour deep cleaning and tell me that I had Periodontitis. This was not true, after getting 2 other professional opinions. As a new patient, they were most likely trying to charge my insurance with a more expensive procedure for monetary gain.

I am completely blown away and very proud to say that Dr. Meadows is my dentist. From the professionalism of his staff, kindness, explanation of benefits, smiles, and the beside manners of Dr. Meadows is top notch! I was educated while in his care, know the next steps of my treatment, and also the cost, which is very important and allows me to plan ahead. I've never felt this amazing leaving the dentist. Not just an appointment, but an experience!

I would say I have had an okay experience since dealing with this office. Most recently it turns out I have to get braces for the third time on my bottom row. I have had a permanent retainer on the bottom row each time I've had my braces taken off so my feet should not be moving . Proof of This being I have a permanent retainer on my top row, never used a removable retainer and my teeth are fine . I have repeatedly called this office and still have not gotten a resolution . The so called office manager BJ is rude . I called and spoke with Cathy/Kathy last week and have not gotten a call back from dr. Summerlin. I paid in cash totally out of pocket when I first got braces . I don't think I should be paying the same amount for the bottom row when it's not my fault my teeth are moving . I have a permanent retainer . I simply want a discount given I've done what I'm supposed to but I can't even get a call back . This is disappointing given I thought dr summerlin was better than that but doesn't seem like he cares about his patients and the office staff do not kee up with messages .

I have been coming to Dr. Meadows for 16 years. So this Google review is weighted heavily. Dr. Meadows has a phenomenal passion about dentistry. He uses only high quality products & the latest dental innovations. He is professional, very courteous, respectful & knowledgeable. If you're looking for a Dentist that is gonna do it right and be thorough the 1st time - He is your man!!! I love his staff - BJ makes it all come together by providing immediate answers & followups. During my 16 years with him, I have lived in NYC, Raleigh, & Los Angeles but I always come back to Dr. Meadows because his work is phenomenal!!!! I strongly recommend him to my family & co-workers.

So I was just looking to get some work done and really didn't do no research but I'm extremely happy I chose this office! From the moment I walk in the staff was friendly and the receptionist guess it was me since he hasn't seen my face( which made me feel welcome). You can feel the positivity in the air. The wait was extremely short and Dr. Meadows blew me away! He was very knowledgeable, professional and nice! I never had a dentist to break down what's going on. He went in details even drew pictures to make sure I fully understand, I left feeling good I know exactly what my next step and pay would be on next visit. I didn't just feel like a number and he playing rotation to the rooms. I look forward to going back and would highly recommend Dr. Meadows office. Trust me it's worth it...

My visit today for an extraction was wonderful. It was over and done quickly. No pain. Friendly staf and excellent dentist, no wait, clean office. Almost can't wait to return.

Dr. Meadows has been my family's dentist for over 18 years. His services cannot be compared, his office is CLEAN, he and his staff are extremely professional. I will not trade him for anything in the Dental World!!

UPDATE: So surprisingly, I received a call from Dr. Meadows team this morning to discuss my review below. I'm a fair person, so I stated that I would update my review to reflect what happened after I wrote it. The billing specialist did call back yesterday afternoon with the CORRECT pricing, which was SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER. Also, she stated that the gentleman that tried to sell me a new retainer was new and that he should have stated that Dr. Meadows would do everything he could to fix the retainer I had. Moreover, she began to tell me about the pro-Bono work that he has done. I appreciate the call for sure, but I don't think I would have received one had I not wrote the review below. I say this because when I've had questions regarding the price and treatment plan, no one ever really seemed to care when I said I would have to go to somewhere else for treatment. Even yesterday when I stated that I would not settle for a new retainer and that I wanted to cancel any and all future appointment, the gentleman just said "okay, it's done." He didn't offer to have someone call me back or anything. So I say all this because I do still feel as though I was treated as a number and not a true patient, and had I not written this review, no one would have cared that I took my business elsewhere. I'll admit, I am very hard on dentist, and Dr. Meadows work is good. But, when your constantly shelling out hundreds and thousands of dollars, you expect the best - especially when it comes to major work such as implants and crowns. It's already traumatic, nerve-wrecking and costly to have this kind of work done, so to think or even get the impression that you have to continuously shell out more money or that your needs aren't being met is underwhelming. It's all about comfort and know that your doctor/dentist will always take care of you - and that's all I was looking for. Honestly, I'm still not sure how I feel about the whole ordeal. Maybe I'll go back and give Dr. Meadows another chance, or maybe I'll find someone else. One thing I think everyone can agree on is that good dentist are hard to find. ORIGINAL POST: Dr. Meadows is nice and his staff is friendly, but I feel like he is ALWAYS trying to milk his patients. I recently had a dental emergency for a partial retainer while my implant healed, and instead of Dr. Meadows giving me an exam to see what could be done, his team immediately saw it as an opportunity to sell me orthodontics treatment and sell me a whole new retainer. Or when I tried to get a quote on my new crown replacement, his staff said it would be $1,200. When I called my old dentist in MD, he stated it would be $450. That's a dramatic difference. Dr. Meadows is a pretty good dentist, but he take advantage of his patients and is always trying to overcharge them. I love supporting the African American community, but I will have to take my business elsewhere. DO NOT get caught up in the hype, your pockets $$$ will suffer.

This was one of the best visits I've ever had to the dentist in my entire life. Immediately, as I walked through the door I was promptly greeted and professionally welcomed. The visit was peaceful and serene. I didn't take care proper care of a tooth and it created a quite complicated matter for Dr. Summerlin. The clinic was due to be closed at 5pm; however, he and staff offered to provide service and extract a tooth that had caused me excruciating pain. The great thing now is that I feel as if I can finally get myself to a better smile with this dentistry. Awesome place.
